A new rumor about an airsoft VP70 from Arnie's Airsoft in the UK:

Unfortunately, I don't have any direct experience with Tanio Koba airsoft guns, so I don't know if their quality is decent or not :|

KOBA 10/22 rifles are amongst the best built Airsoft guns and sell for an arm and a leg. But they look like pieces of art rather than toys or imitation firearms.

Some of the other items, like the Tanaka Remington M700, is already available, so hopefully the VP-70 isn't too far off. Given that they chose to make the military version instead of the civilian version, I have a good feeling that they'll make a shoulder stock to go with it. Full-auto baby! YEAH!!!

Every time I come up with an idea, someone with money backing beats me to it. I thought I should build a cineaplex in town, a month later the sign goes up for a Mann's Cinema 8. I think, gee, it would be cool to make a certain prop, and somebody does it a short time later.

I'm going to quit thinking. :D

I better finish some projects and start saving for that vp-70M. Should be cool.

btw, anyone hear anything about a mini 14 airsoft rifle by chance?, i am working on something that uses the mini 14 and i'd love to upgrade the sucker from static to fireing

If I can decipher the pigeon that was written from Arnie's Board about this rumor, I think that it means that KOBA is working on a prototype pistol based on the VP-70, which features blow back (assuming it's most likely gas-operated of course) that would have a steel slide (as in the case of the military model VP-70 (huh ??)). One would assume that it would be a full-auto pistol as there are already other gas-op full-auto blow-back pistols based on real guns on the market.

that ruger Mini 14 rifle btw incliding S&H is 670 USD, it is wood and metal and never been fired, and the magazine holds shells but you only get 5 of em

Near as I can tell, the post says the the VP-70 is mostly plastic... but that could just be the prototype.

"...The 4 th time toygun and bazaar "GEKISHIN MATURI" (meaning is Severe Earthquake Festival) There was a surprising announcement. TanioKoba is making "H&K VP70" as an experiment now, and, seemingly, is planning sale next year.

There is no announcement formal on the present official page. According to the talk of those who have said "GEKISHIN MATURI". Though regrettable, there is no photograph.

1 A stock is attached.
2 If a stock is attached by "GBB", of course, a three burst shot can be carried out.

You bet that looks like the VP stock.
Looks like the VP Mag in his hand...it's very thick, had one out (real one) inspecting it just the other day the biggest damn 9mm pistol mag I ever saw.

I just read the COMBAT issue (Japanese AS publication) where Koba Tanio San was interview regarding his VP-70. I found his web site, and couldn't find any more news. BUT, you can check out his other work including his neat lil 10/22s
