| Post subject: | whats a good all rounder for skirmishing? |
now that im almost there with my pulse rifle ive decided that skirmishing with it will not do.the c and g kit on the thompson is nice but its a bit heavy and the plastic pump is very prone to knocks and the innards have broke on me once so what to do?. I would like to open this post and ask the guys and gals that know......whats a good piece of kit...what are you rocking out there.i know its down to personal preference but i'd like to hear your views.being a gamer i remember running into the rcp90 in goldeneye multiplayer and just laying waste.anyone got the aeg version and if so how does it handle? also i would like a sidearm aeg but this will double up as my sidearm for my cm kit so what works,what looks good and will the bugs fear it? i may even do a hicks and buy a shot gun and sheath so whats good in that department. |

Just quickly, as I'm not an Airsofter myself (any more)... IIRC, The RCP90 in Goldeneye (N64, yeah?) is based on a normal FN P-90, as seen in Stargate and so on... IMO, that'd be great for fairly close quarters, pushing toward mid-range, but the short-ish barrel may impact your longer ranges. Depends where you play and what you play as - It'd likely be fine for CQB scenarios like The Mall here but playing in a rifleman sort of role somewhere outside like Section 8, you would possibly be wanting something longer like an M16 or whatever the kids are using these days... Personally I feckin' LOVE the P-90 and would carry one as a primary sidearm (secondary being a favoured pistol, 'just because') when operating as an independant sniper/sharpshooter. I'm more a heavy weapons fan anyway, so if you have an MG, mortar or similar GBFO thing that needs lugging and setting up, a P-90 does nicely in the carbine role for your gunners and ammo bearers. |

Personally, I love the G36C. However, it's getting harder to find a Jing Gong model that's ACTUALLY Jing Gong, as many retailers/importers now seem to be lumping a load of manufacturers under that name. I've had amazing ones, and ones with innards seemingly made of twigs and old bedsprings. Tokyo Marui are always rock solid, but pricier. ( And don't bother getting into the FPS arms race. ) |

oh no defiantly not in the fps arms race.i go back a few years and that would just be wallet suicide.like i said a side arm for my cm,an all rounder skirmisher and maybe somein else for backup.i like the idea of a p90 and a rifle but when accuracy is what you want you wouldnt use a plastic pellet that the wind can take so im thinking a 90 and elevation and windage are my friend...lol.not into bolt action. |

Good bit of kit, parts readily available for it, lots of variations to suit playing style, and looks very nice too. Cant go wrong really |

well I've been on a AK bender this year love the bomb proof gear box and the higher rate of fire due to the gear arrangement . stick a decent hop unit in them and they are ready to rock

I do like AKs as well - My mate Neil had a bloody lovely TM blowback AK, and until the G36C was released, my go-to gun was the TM Beta Spetsnaz. |

hold on guys....very new to this (come from a very expensive fac hobby that i had to jack in due to work and family commitments).i dont have the techniqual savvy to fiddle and feckle much and i dont understand all the short hand.presume tm is tokyo marui? which seem to be bullet proof.just cant get that p90 out of my head. fireball have you got the snow wolf pulsey? i ask as ive done the g and c conversion for a marui thompson and its rather heavy and that grenade launcher pump is so brittle its bust twice on me already.cant imagine skirmishing with it as it seems rather delicate. i used to really love a good stalk and shoot now the only stalking i do is after ill patients at work or my baby boy at home.wouldnt change it for the world dont get me wrong but this sites got my juices flowing again.......ohh that sounds wrong and incidentally if you have the same problem there are very good creams for that lol lol lol.......no i will not apply it lol lol lol lol |

P90's can be tricky to swap mags in a hurry, reloads should be a factor in your decision too. I would find your local airsoft shop or site, ask to try the guns out and find which one you prefer. Everyone is different, you may fall in love with a gun after reading specs but if you take the plunge and find out the saftey catch rubs against your face everytime you raise the weapon, you'll be a tad annoyed.

I've turned off of TM due to their shiny plastic. I've just sold off my TM G36K recoil shock (awesome awesome recoil engine, loads of fun but gross shiney plastic) and brought an ICS G33. It's based off a G36C with a few twists and uses M4 mags.  Not mine but I'll be slapping an Eotech on mine and getting an AFG for it. My other beastie is a G&P Magpul MOE which is just beautiful and a fantastic rifle. Don't have any picture pictures of the MOE but -    To be honest, I think G&P, G&G and ICS are the better brands. They look and feel good and they perform good. In regards to the P90, TM do an over-priced one and G&G have released one this year. Used to love the performance of the TM one but the plastic was gross so I sold it. G&G sounds like it performs and looks nice (not used one) but it doesn't have a triple railed version and I don't trust inbuilt sights. They're normally pretty poo quality. |

Rodent... If fancy an intro into Airsofting, come and pop along to us one Sunday. (KGBairsoft.com) I'm sure we can bore you senseless with endless amounts of 'gun talk'. For the most part, ALL AEG's (Auto Electric Guns) will fire within about 90% the same as each other. They all have a similar power (or should do, due to site limitations), have a similar Rate of Fire and have a similar range. You will get a million different responses from a million different people as to what is the best. There is no right or wrong answer. The main thing is which you like the look of best and what works for you ergonomically. I'd advise getting an AEG first, then look to specialise when you've found your calling. You can do everything you need to do with an AEG, you can't do it all with something like a pistol or a shottie. |

defo gonna do that chef.work are being plonkers and for some reason all i seem to get is weekends and one on one off during the week. I'm working on it lol. i am running in some boots so prepare for rodents arrival. as far as the shottie and pistol those are purely for my marine armour,dummie etc display. I rather like shooting stuff again that has the trajectory of a rainbow...only this time it can go auto so im like a pig in sh1t.lol |

anybody got some ideas about safety masks or goggles that are glasses friendly? most just push my specs into my face which hurts like hell.anyone got the same problems out there? |
