And does it actually contain the Marui?
------------------------------------------------------

I'll quote Newt on this one... "Affirmative".

All required Marui guts are included. I priced this kit locally and it sells for $375, the Marui Thompson $335, required clip $38 bucks and of course the battery and charger for an added $50 bucks or more. And to top all this off you need to add any sales taxes, which by the way are dodged by making the purchase from Hong Kong and shipping it to the USA (Cal). My total cost assembled and shipped was $625 (3% discount added for using PayPal).

ROCK ON!

I think it looks awsome ... but on the other hand I'm a motion tracker junkie.
So please, what is "not accurate"?
Looks accurate to me.

I'm not an accuracy nut ;) , but this is what I can see:

1. The grenade launcher trigger is missing
2. The shroud isn't quite the correct shape (it looks too short- like it's a compressed version)
3. The rear of the shroud, where the stock is connected, is shaped incorrectly (it is too high and box shaped- should look more like a half circle)

Like I said, I'm not for 1000% accuracy, so if it looks like a PR, and smells like a PR, that's good enough for me!

If I had to go with an airsoft PR- this would be the one.
We need a mini tutorial on getting the shotgun shell out and replacing it with a grenade.
Russell? Some help please?:D

Hello SSgt

I've actually seen the kit and the fake shell is connected to a non-movable shelf. At a glance it should be a cake walk to pop it out and toss it for a more realistic aluminum one.

I've included a pic of the kit below. The kit is two-side like most of the other ones available and should only require the removal of some screws to remove the body work.

I'm getting my Pulse Rifle tomorrow I think. It just arrived in San Fransico after being shipped from Hong Kong. As soon as I wipe all my druel off the peice (LoL) I'll post some cool picks for everyone to pick at... :D

I am getting ready to build another one and will do a pictorial for removing the shell and replacing it with an actual grenade. It is a bit harder than you might think. The system that is involved can, and does break if not careful. I know.

YEAH BABY!

My Pulse has arrived without a scratch. Lucky tho, considering the extreme lack of protective packaging in/around the gun and the fact that the plastic bag of pellets busted open inside the box. It survived the Hong Kong shippment to California without any hiccups. Looks like it never went through customs tho, since no signs of inspection tape, etc was present on the box.

With all that aside, I can honestly say that this piece is well constructed. Unfortunately however, I can't go into the backyard and spray the fence  until I get a charger to charge the battery it shipped with (LoL). I don't know why they did not throw in a simple charger also, but I can't complain considering the quality of the item in general.

Does anyone happen to have the setup info on this kit? If so it would really be great if you could zipp it for me and send it to my email. The only booklet that was included was for the Thompson.

OH NOooooooooooooooooo

I discovered a cheap part... I need some help. Has anyone had the magizine cap locks snap on this kit? It looks to have been glued by whom ever assembled prior to it complety breaking off.

Just super glue or epoxy it back in place. I'm sure that will hold.

Thanks for your response guys, but now I'm going to look stupid :o .
What is a JB Weld? I used some epoxy glue on the broken peice and covered the outside area top/bottom with a relatively think coat also extending outside of the break point

Maybe this is what is meant as a JB weld. I was worried that if I glued just the inner portion of the break, that it would have easily snapped again since this piece is "Squeezed" on/off to load the hicap magazine.

I can take it! Hammer Away

"JB Weld" is an automotive epoxy that when combined becomes nearly as hard as steel. It's good enough to glue most items togeather and I believe it can be sanded/drilled, etc. after it's cured.

Yea sorry about that Tiger and thanks Rook.

I have tried many brands of 2 part epoxy before making a life time commitment to JB WELD/JB QUICK. Take it from me that these products (any K-MART (yea I know I know), WALMART, ACE HARDWARE) kick the lama's a__ .

Be mindful when using JB QUICK (sets up in 4 minutes) that it cures very fast. So, for most jobs like what you have there Tiger JB WELD is what you want. Trust me.;)

www.jbweld.com

Originally designed to repair cracks in farm tractor engine blocks. I also swear by it.

As stated, 'JB kwik' sets up fast.

www.jbweld.com/kwik.html

One trick I learned is that instead of mixing the two parts in a separate container and trying to quickly transfer it to the work area, simply mix the two parts directly on the piece to be mended.

I'd send you one Kevin but I'm away from the States at the moment. May be someone on the Board can get you a set. They're around $4.50 at any hardware or automotive stores.

MAG7 Tiger Claw:

Quote:With all that aside, I can honestly say that this piece is well constructed

Will, it looks like I need to eat some of my own crow concerning my above quote. After toying around for the last few days with my G&P PR, I now have a few gripes concerning the kits construction.

Gripe #1 "As Seen Above" involved the magazine cap (Plastic Lock) breaking. Since this piece is the only damn piece on the gun that requires "Squeezing" to take off/on for reloading purposes, it is lame that it was not made of metal. The other gripe involves the ejection shell display and pump config. Without having the instructions to reference this for you visually, I will attempt to explain it.

The pump handle is connected via two small screws to a peice of plastic approx 1/2 inch long with a plastic (round) ring at the top. This part of the kit is internal and not easily visible. The purpose of the ring section is to slide it over the ejection (aluminum pipe) section of the gun that covers the shell when the pump handle is forward and displays the shell when the pump is open (back).

The problem with this setup is that the aluminum pipe and plastic ring are not fastened together with anything. And after using the pump handle x amount of times, the plastic ring begins to slide on the aluminum pipe. This will lead to the shell not being fully covered by the aluminum pipe when the pump handle is fully forward.

If I was to assemble one of these kits, I would make sure to either secure the plastic ring to the aluminum ejection cover at a fixed location with glue or a screw. Once this piece starts sliding its almost impossible to return it to normal with the gun assembled. And even when you do get it lined back up it will slide again.

Knowlege is power, but frustration can drive man insane

Yea I know how you feel. When we pay for something (which isn't cheap by any measure), we want it to work perfectly. I think there will be a lot of feedback to these PR sellers and makers soon, as I see lots of people putting their non-AS PR's up for sale. And I'm assuming that it is a safe bet many are now considering to get one of the two main kits that are out there now.

But look at these disappointing failings (thankfully they're fairly minute) as growing pains. One often sees defects with first year models of automobiles that by the third year get pretty much worked out. Hence consumers are told sometimes to stay away from the first production year of certain models (especially from the likes of makers e.g. BMW).

Hopefully, we will see improvements made on these kits as well. But look on the bright side -- at least you have your PR in hand and the makers have done the hardest part (making the kits). I trust that most any one of us given time would be able to improve on our PR's. That's part of the fun. Right ??

:)

Hello MENATARMS...

Yea, it sucks.

Would you believe that over the last few days I've been playing email tag with UNComany asking that they replace the broken piece. I provided them with a picture and they are giving me the run around to ship the item back and they will replace it (LOL). It will cost 10 x more to ship then what is would cost to replace it. The other BS issue is that they shipped me the wrong battery which is double wide and does not fit into the gun. Again, I provided with pictures to prove my claim, but they insist its the correct one.

This is unbelievable. I purchased the correct battery from a local dealer that is single wide/long.

If UNCompany continues to handle this issue in this manner they will loose my business and I will warn others to be weary also.

Not all Companies are customer oriented and from what Im seeing so far UNComapny is making this list. Its very sad tho, considering they have reasonable prices.:D
