The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

OK, so I have seen these around for a while on ebay, and finally put a low bid down on one and actually won the sucker. With shipping I paid $14 for this. MUCH cheaper than the solid resin versions (which I've gotten 2 for free) and this thing comes with a working laser sight and "silencer"

The first thing that struck me was that this is actually pretty damn sturdy for a cheapo airsoft. Usually these cheapo springer things can be broken with your bare hands. This one is not too bad.

I hate the trigger on this thing a whole lot. It's not an attractive gun anyway, but with this trigger it's even more ugly! :)

The slidemounted "safety" has no reason for exsisting since it's molded on there and doesn't function in anyway shape or form.

So, I compared it to the resin versions I have. Pics follow.

It's clearly bigger and bulkier. it reads vp-70M on the grip, and vp-70 on the slide, and it has the overall style of the vp series of shooters.

It shoots BB's at a slow velocity too.

I found the magazine odd in a design sense, since the release is where the original has a safety, the grip mounted release isn't needed, but they went ahead and did this:

I will probably cut that off. Not sure yet.

Overall review, for a grunt who will be toting this around in a holster at cons, it's a better deal than a $50 solid resin version, and it has some working features like a slide and magazine.

For somebody like me who collects things he doesn't need, it's a REALLY good deal! :)

Mostly wanted to share some pics with you guys who may be considering picking one up.

OH, and the laser sight actually works pretty good too. It has a long range on it, so you can zero targets all the way across a convention! :)

This pic doesn't really do the sight justice, but you get the point.

These look like they were moulded off the KOBA due to the size being very close (larger than VP-70's), but it looks like besides the trigger -- they made some changes in the grip frame near the middle aft of the slide. Think I prefer SIDKIT's version pulled off of a MGC master for the accuracy and articulation. Of course this is a springer and shoots I presume.

Yeah, it shoots BB's. Velocity is next to nothing though, it's the weakest shooting airsoft I've ever plinked with. Doesn't even penetrate a soda can. A few times, barely dented them.

Last night, I noticed the laser sight was not working, so I took it out of the "mount" and it fell apart in my hands!!

It was too bad, I was enjoying making the dogs chase the laser all over the house.:D
:D

They are well worth $6 if for no other reason than to tote around at conventions in a holster so you don't have to risk your accurate replica getting dropped or stolen.

Just read this one and thought I'd chime in - first post on the AA.

A few of us at D Con nabbed some VP-&)M's I believe they were that are very clsoe to your one you got.
Only the trigger is accurate to your resin, but it seems they have a higher velocity. I know because someone fired one across the con:D (no names)

$15 from the dealers room. Only thing is the barrel tip fell out - no idea why though. Happened on the Walmart VP I got from Dom (well won from Dom) so not sure if its something I'm doing or not.

Anyway, nice find ;)

Help me find one of these, you guys! I looked on ebay and 3 other auction sites with no luck. Now I spend 1 1/2 hours chasing dead ends from google hits, with no luck. It is like these things just evaporated, now that I want to buy one! If anyone knows were I can purchase one, please post info here and - or PM me ASAP. Thanks !!!

I just picked one up when I was on vacation in Flordia for $5, haven't shot it yet though, just got home. Looks a lil off but it'll be passable as my first Aliens gun for now.
