The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

ICS Full Metal MP5
Packs quite a punch at a blistering 350fps, especially with the evil black bb's that came with it. It is also loud. I have been shooting gas a lot lately. I have a KSC gas M4A1 and a TM MK23 Full Set, well, minus the mag:( I forgot how mechanical the motors on an AEG are. I also have to get use to the delay before firing.
I like the metal body, but it does not make that much difference. Like Rook said in other posts, it is a pot metal like a cheap die cast car. It adds a little weight, and a little "look and feel". Not worth a lot of extra money.
Mine has some cosmetic damage so I may use this as a base gun to modify to a pulse rifle MP41A or somethind else.

I've got an ICS MP5A4 as well, bought it secondhand. The metal body was damaged, so I had to buy a replacement. I switched it for a Classic Army body, and there was a VERY noticeable difference in weight and feel. In my experience the ICS metal bodies is a lot less dense, and less durable than the CA parts.

I'm surprised with the velocity results you got from yours. I put a spare M100 spring in mine and it only chrono'd at 340fps with 0.20's.

There shouldn't be any noticeable delays if all was well. It sounds like a voltage problem (other opionions out there ? chime in).

I think he means the delay between trigger and firing, where with a gas gun (or cheap springer) the firing is almost instant because you don't have that 1/16 of a second delay as the motor winds the piston back.

What I always loved about the ICS MP5's is the disassembly. It breaks down just like the TM G3 rifles, which means you pull like one pin and *shunk* the lower comes apart from the upper. Very, very nice design feature. I'm suprised Marui never used it in their MP5 like. It would make repairs so much easier as you wouldn't need to crack the upper in 2 pieces to get the mechbox out.

I agree Rook. I had to extensively mod the remaining ICS parts to accept the non-quick takedown Classic Army receiver. It was out of necessity, since the ICS part was broken (the barrel supports at the front) and I had a new CA on hand.

However, the new B&T-trademarked CA guns use the quick take-down and have moved the hopup adjusted into the ejection port (which is finally linked to the cocking handle!)

Yep, had to get used to the normal delay of an AEG. Fun gun. Can't wait to get a tracer for it. I like to see where I am shooting.
