At last I think I have my dream PR. This is the last ever GW2 airsoft conversion. Gary was building it for himself, but had a little accident, of which more later. So the rifle: features metal barrel and adjustable stock, vacformed shroud, Hyperdyne counter and strobe and - the real killer - real Spas Cage and pump! There's just one catch - it doesn't work! While Gary was working on it, he dropped it and broke the hop-up chamber (?) Now I know doodly squat about airsoft Thompsons, so if anyone can enlighten me, that would be cool. I'm no skirmisher, but a day might come when I want to restore it to firing glory, and I don't have a clue. Anyway, on with the pics: Birdie@cwcom.net |

Birdie, e-mail me next week. I'll scan the parts breakdown of the manual. Then you'll want to contact your local airsoft retailer, or even contact WGC or DEN themselves to order the replacement part. With the stock attached getting the gun apart will be a pain, but you'll need to do so to get acess to the hop up unit. If you feel ambitious, you might try taking 'er apart now and getting some reference pics of the broken parts. Isn't Neophyl over there? I know he's pretty knowledgeable about airsoft and the PR in general. If so, he may be able to help. Rook Visit Rook's Castle, I dare you! What's a matter McFly? Chicken? |

Yeah I know how to get to the hop up ![]() ![]() Now im not 100% positive as Im relying on memory but you might be able to remove the barrel with hop unit wthout actualy opening the reciver. There are 2 screws on the underside of the lower barrel support (just in front of the magwell). These are probably blocked by the spas cage. Theres also a very small hex type grub screw on top of the barrel that also fastens it to the receiver. I think once these 3 screws are removed that the whole barrel with hop unit will come out. As for replacement parts in the UK then I can personally recommend Zero 1 airsoft. They might have replacement in stock already but they can order in just about anything. They are very reliable. Another retailer is Airsoft Dynamics. They also can get all the bits but delivery can take awhile as they only put orders in to hong kong either fortnightly or monthly. You could also find out where your local skirmish site is and find out who the resident 'armourer' is and see if they will fix it for you. Phil theForce is my ally, but a kick A$$ lightsaber helps........ |

Hey, nice gun! Where do the metal stock and barrel vents come from (hand made ?) All you need now are some metal shrouds to replace the vacuum forms. What you could do is buy a metal hop-up upgrade. Might as well right ? The standard TM hop-up units are plastic. I believe companies like SystemA make metal ones, which I believe had your Thompson been installed with one -- it most likely wouldn't have been broken. MENATARMS asked... Quote: Quote:Where do the metal stock and barrel vents come from (hand made ?) And Birdie initially said... Quote: Quote:This is the last ever GW2 airsoft conversion. Gary was building it for himself... Gary had those parts made by contracting to a machine shop. Rook Visit Rook's Castle, I dare you! What's a matter McFly? Chicken? |
