The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Well, there's the thing...
It's not that it's "not classed as a RIF" - It's that nobody has as yet been in trouble for selling one.

BIG difference.
Personally, my view is that personal sales right now of Pulse Rifle kits are safe enough - Since it's very clear in the law that what matters is looks, and if I was to be arrested for selling one the first thing I would do is point the prosecution in the direction of Forbidden Planet's website:

http://forbiddenplanet.com/40991-aliens ... e-replica/

At which point, I would have Forbidden Planet's legal team behind me - And I'd either be found not guulty of any crime... Or I'd be taking FP down with me!

Note : I AM NOT A LAWYER! This is all personal opinion, based upon experience, and frustration with the stupidity and near-uselessness of the VCRA for actually preventing any real criminals for getting hold of actual dangerous weapons.
The VCRA makes it difficult for legitimate Airsofters to get hold of the tools needed for their sport. It accomplishes almost NOTHING ELSE!

It amazes me how the HCG slipped through the net and, on a related note real deacts are exempt.

Just out of interest, do actual "was in the film, this is a total piece of history collectable" prop firearms fall into the law?
Maybe they found a loop hole and used some 'creative wording'...

Right so, as reaper also says, the HCG has somehow slipped the net. The same could be said of the Master Replica's 1:1 Star Wars blasters I suppose. Either way it would need some sort of test case to get a definitive legal answer.

I fully agree on your sentiments regarding the VCRA too.

Cheers.

John. :)

I asked the Home Office a few years back how they would view the Pulse Rifle under the VCRA. They were "less than remotely interested"... saying it was up to the Police and Courts to decide.

LOL! Yep, sounds familiar! ... I think it may have PVB that mentioned elsewhere, that until someone is arrested for walking down the street with an M41A replica, thus creating a test case, then this is the only answer we're likely to get.

For now UKARA player registration will be the only way to get a complete rifle such as the one featured in this thread. :(

Cheers.

John. :)

Just another normal day then in London

Seriously though i would love to order one of these. I still have a gas TM SOCOM with LAM + silencer and a FAMAS which i got years ago before all the laws changed. They are safely locked away and have not seen daylight for a while. Guess i should get round to selling.

I made a little trailer/advert for a church summer camp and went up the forest with a full on arsenal of BB guns. One was an automatic rifle with grenade launcher and the other was a baretta. My mate was dressed up like a soldier preparing for war.

Back on topic. Any idea how much one of these would cost in the UK?

id say about 350 quid, when importing most companys dont work out the conversion rate they just change the dollar sign for a pound one

Add on a rather large amount for postage, then customs/Royal Mail charges...

Yup that's what I meant.
I'd not risk importing one until I knew for sure I wouldn't get it seized.

Thing is, buying it in the UK the RIF/IF point becomes moot... Since as this version IS Airsoft the likes of Forbidden Planet are less likely to carry it.
You'll have to go to an Airsoft retailer, and you'll need a site membership/UKARA number to buy from them.

Regardless of the "Quality" on this thing, it'd still be cheaper for someone who just needs a prop Pulse Rifle to pick one of these fully-assembled blasters than have to pick up a resin kit and assemble it, or get the REAL G&P kit and make one, or build their own for that matter.

I'm already friends with one other happy Pulse Rifle owner. It'd be nice to get a few more folks lugging M41As around!

Yeah, my G&P raised a fair bit of interest when I used it at a recent airsoft game. I get the feeling it's the overall price that puts players off though, as well as the fact that you've got to build it yourself or pay even more for a dealer to do it!

They are a rare sight in airsoft. In fact mine is the only one I've pyhsically seen at a game in the 11 years I've been playing!

I used mine a couple of times, but at 8.5 kilos, and with a fiddly mag insertion... They're not exactly practical skirmish weapons!
