Post subject: Airsoft Pulse Rifle Upgrades (G&P Kit)
PostPosted: Sun Jul 10, 2005 12:26 am
Well I'm waiting for delivery for my Pulse Rifle kit, have a Thompson reserved and have some people on standby to build up the kit for me, so I have to ask, anyone have any upgrades for this yet?

I've already got a machine pulse rifle grenade that's going to replace the shotgun shell in the grenade launcher.

I'd be interested in a better magazine cover connector (since I see that the plastic one breaks often), and if there was something to allow the magazine to actually sit on the cover so you could slap it in, even better.

Any other upgrade bits available from anyone?

For the record -- it's the G&P PR kit (the kit's manufacturer is G&P Laser Products of Hong Kong). GnG (or Guns & Guys) is just a small Airsoft shop & internet seller who carries the kit. Other shops/sites also carry the G&P kit, e.g. DENTrinity and UNCO (all of them in Hong Kong).

Roguestorm has been working on some metal spring clips to replace those plastic ones. Not sure whether they are available yet though.

Ah, my mistake, corrected the title.

I'm definately interested in that metal spring if better versions are produced.

"I've already got a machine pulse rifle grenade that's going to replace the shotgun shell in the grenade launcher"

Thats exactly what i'm doing

I am thinking of replacing the spaz cage with a airsoft one
and adding a resin 870 inside

I'm also going to repain the barrol, thopmson and spaz parts
so the black all matches up

What color is the bolt and handle on the PR?
black of silver????

Bare in mind that the way the GNG PR is constructed, the Spas12 cage has additional pieces not commonly found on an airsoft Spas12 cage to help it attach onto the rest of the GNG PR. It may not be simple to replace it with an airsoft Spas12 cage.

Honestly though, I think the GNG Pulse Rifle's Grenade Launcher is pretty decent and does the job nicely.

As for placing a resin 870 inside an airsoft Spas12 cage, you many want to look at this thread.

Is this a decent kit? I'm thinking about picking up a working Airsoft Pulse Rifle and wondering what the best route for it is.

I'm sure there are tons of posts somewhere about this, but I figured since this is a new topic, maybe it'd be easier.

Thanks!

PostPosted: Tue Jul 19, 2005 6:40 am
Here's a 3d file of my mag bottom. I heavily modified my
G&P kit with over 20 custom 3d printed parts. I fixed all
of the quirks with kit and made it more screen acurate.

Ugrades include:
integrated laser (hidden under the barrel) and working
grenade launcher. (27mm mini moscart linked to a modified
870 trigger assy. Nice when I have a 3d printer in my office..
I will post some more picts soon. I still have the stl files, so
if there is enough interest, I could possibly make more.

I printed 4 of them for my arsenal.

Any pictures of the actual parts? I'd be interested in a mag bottom for mine.

What kind of 3D printer do you use? ZCorp, SLA...? How strong is the outputted resin?
Curious.

I have an FDM machine. It prints ABS plastic.

As long as your wall thickness in your 3d file is good,
(mine is 3mm if I remember) It is really durable. Probably
more durable than most aeg's,because I can over engineer it.
All of my parts are built in Solidworks 2005.

I printed 4 mag bottoms, and haven't had a problem.
They slide snug into the 190clip. I made access to the
mag winder at the bottom. So you can just leave them on
and "lock and load".
They have been through Lion Claws 4.
Paint chips a little, but that gives a cool weathered
look. I did have to dremel the 9v counter battery holder
at the top to move the battery up more. I wanted to give the
mag bottom strength, as you can see with the internal
ribs.
I will post everything about my rifle on
m41a.com soon.

Here's a pict.

Very nice. What'd you charge for one of those mag bottoms? Or two?

Yep. The Grenade launcher houses one 27mm
mini moscart 18 or 36 rounds. I purchased the peq2 launcher
unit just for the grenades. I made seven specific pieces to
make it work. 1. a 1-1/8 pipe for the shot gun outer barrel.
2.a collar to slide the grenade into. 3.an adapter plate for
the grenade to seat to. 4. a firing pin 5.fastener piece for
the grenade block to lock into. 6. a hammer on a heavily
dremeled 870 trigger assy. 7. piece to lock in 870 trigger to spas cage. Here's a pict of those pieces and others.

This thing sounds "absolute bad
ass" when fired. I nailed a guy with it the last time I skirmished. I was quite pleased. I would say it is more for
cqb though. As for the battery, It neatly tucks underneath
the grenade.

MNoble -- I also am wondering how the GL face plate, i.e. the piece that turns to accept the stick battery is handled in your mod. in order to fire the 27mm nades ?? And also the re-location of the battery pack for this mod. Excellent idea though. I couldn't tell from the 3D model. Luv to see an photo of.

It's to wind the gear on the bottom of the 190 Hi-capacity M1A1 mag. Without that hole in the mag base, you can't wind up the mag and therefore it wouldn't feed BBs into the chamber. Hi-capacity AEGs use a gear mechanism in the lower half of the mags to feed BBs upwards rather than low-capacity mags that store the BBs in a spring loaded tube.

I just heard from my guys, the Pulse Rifle has been converted, but they say the stock isn't locking into place. Sounds like the issue I saw in a few threads where the plastic U piece is too weak and broke. I emailed a person in one of these threads regarding a metal U piece instead, but can't find the 'tutorial' referenced in a message. I found a link to a file to download, but the file link is broken and doesn't find it. Does anyone have this tutorial they can send me?
