The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

The mag in mine was fine until I built the PR with shroud around the TM Thompson, then it would get stuck and had to be removed with a screwdriver.

I ended up giving it to a metalwork firm to grind/file the sides of the mag down by about half a mm, now it fits fine.

Never had that problem.

There are two spacer pieces inside the magwell.

One covers the counter electronics, the other

helps fill in the other side to allow smooth mag

insertion. My guess is the one side is not firmly

screwed down.

Post some picts of the inside of your magwell.

You should not have file down your mags.

I had no problems like that also.

I found that it was abit loose and did not hit the micro switch so I put some black tape down the sides of the magazine and also bent the micro switch abit.

Filing down the magazine is a bit over kill.

It could be that the two plates on the mag well need to be loosen off so the magazine is nice and free. The G&P is squeezed together too much and that why the magazine is tight. Just undo the screws on one side of the G&P kit and try to get the gap equal all the way round the kit. That should be the ticket.

Tried all that, but could not get the whole shroud apart due to a couple of the hex bolts losing their hex head shape, so the key just turned inside the hole.

Mine wasn't just a liitle tight, as I said the mag actually got stuck fast, so I had to hit a screwdriver against the end of the mag to get it free.

Anyway, mine's fixed now. :)

1. The mag is out of sight inside the PR.

2. The PR is mainly for display purposes, so I'm not after a 'posh' look to the thing.

If you're using the Marui Thompson, just take a common household metal file, and file SLIGHTLY about 2" of length at the top of the bit on the back of the magazine that fits into the Thompson receiver. I did that to all my Thompson mags and they come out just fine when the release lever is moved. They don't drop free, but they are MUCH easier to remove. The key is to file a little, test it, then file more if needed.

Mine was sticking at all the points that got filed.

TBH, the short mag was probably just made slightly too wide/deep, as the longer mag had less trouble.

Marker pen.

:( I'm sad. Sad in my heart that work of other marines have not provided an example for you.

There are so many better ways to fix that, because eventually, somewhere, someone will see it.

For shame.

Plus, the scratches probably looked better than the marker pen does now.

Weathering can give a PR real character.

:(

Even if it's hidden on display, you posted pictures of it on the internet.

I'm sad in my heart marines. SAD.

I'm just busting your balls. If you want to have marker on your magazine, you go right ahead!

i havent used a marker pen to cover up the scratch marks.
1. it doesnt look too bad
2. cant be bothered

gets in and out ok now, if its a lil tight then a quick tap gets it out.

The flash made the marker pen look a lot worse than it was, but at least I've stopped some on here feeling sad.
