The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I had to do a quick google search, because this was the first time I had heard of this PR conversion kit.

The only link I could find using the name Merit International looks just like the G&P conversion kit- either that or they are using G&P photos to promote their kit.

I'd bet dollars to donuts that it is just a G&P kit as wel.

Is this from Airsoft Extreme? If so Erv used one for his PR build. Its the G&P kit, just not in name.

My kit was labeled with some obscure company, not G&P.

My take on the whole thing is that G&P contracted a supplier/manufacturer to build the G&P kit, who then built and supplied kits to other companies, after the G&P kit runs were complete.

Its possible they were reverse engineered ala the chinese 'clone' airsofts, but being a very specialized kit, my money would be on all kits coming from one factory.

A friend who works in the Airsoft industry told me that there was a rumor of a PR kit clone.

This could be it, but without more details I can't say for sure.

The teaser pics he saw implied they were going to make a complete rifle.

Possibly the ARES version?

Their 2010 catalogue had a silhouette of a PR, along with a few rumours flying around that it would be a cloned and built PR kit with a thompson.

I meant in response to Erik, that the PR he mentioned might be the ARES, not the kit version.

Still waiting for some official conformation though Steve. Although I wonder if they do go with a clone kit and thompson, whether they will accurise it, and make proprietory mags for it.
