The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

You know...

I think this is my very first post in the airsoft section since it was introduced! :o

So does anyone know if a TM Thompson magazine will fit in a Cybergun Thompson AEG?

I just bought a Cybergun M1A1 Thompson (at Canadian Tire  ) but it only came with the drum magazine. Looking for a 30rnd (military/stick) magazine for it. Yeah, yeah I know the bb magazine will hold more than 30 rounds.

I know Cybergun makes a stick magazine, but for some reason the TM magazine is cheaper on ebay. :|

One thing that does fit in there...

Is a Matsucorp PR magazine!

So... (if I don't leave this as an M1A1) I might just consider building my first functioning PR!

just wanted to mention, you need the 20rd style mag cause the 30rd mag is too long if you want to use it for a PR build

Yeah I know.

I should have said that I want the (long) stick magazine so it will look like a WWII M1A1. I know that if I want to go for the PR I need a short 190cap magazine. :)

On a side note- It was a good day today buying this gun! I've had my eyes open for a Thompson (either already in Canada that wasn't a few hundred dollars, or made of clear plastic and safe to import) for 5 years now... Ever since my stepson ripped off my M1928 in 2005!

Hey Mart-

Up the mountain at Upper James and Mohawk. They had two. I bought one. Didn't even have the price displayed yet.

Just remember it's a correct M1A1, but has a drum magazine.

So how much was it? Is it clearsoft or metal? I like my Tokyo Marui, but it has a black plastic receiver and I think I read that Cyber Gun's M1A1 was full metal. I live just off of Mohawk between Garth & West 5th so I might check it out seeing as that Canadian Tire is so close to me.

It just pisses me off that a real Thompson is Prohibited here in Canada. I have my Restricted Possession & Aquisition Licence and have some great firearms like an AR15 carbine, CZ 858 (think AK47), Remington 870 Pollice Magnum with 14" barrel & +1 mag tube, Beretta 92fs Inox, Colt 1911a1 nickel plated and a stainless Ruger P89. Now can someone tell me the difference between a semi auto Thompson M1A1 and the firearms that I actually own?

I was a little shy about posting the price as airsoft in Canada is so damn expensive.

It was $159.99.

No it wasn't metal it was clearsoft (the only thing that gets throught the replica firearm ban). The faux wood grips, stock and drum magazine were not clear plastic. No metal on it what so ever.

CyberGun does make a Tokyo Marui clone that is full metal, but they would be verbotin in Canada too.

PS- if you're going to check out the Thompson, you had better do it soon- there were only two in the display case and I bought one of them.

LOL!!!! Kevin..... Don't ever be shy about what we have to pay. I'm sure our USA friends already know that we have to pay way more than they do, even when our dollar is equivalent to theirs!!! Before I received my actual firearms licence, I had no idea what was acceptble to pay for a quality Airsoft Rifle. I now have airsoft that cost far more than the real world counterpart. You should look into getting your RPAL. I find it's far more satisfying having the real thing that costs less than having a BB gun with an over inflated cost "because it looks real"!!! Mind you, there is that fun satisfaction of full auto with airsoft that you can't quite acheive unless you're 12:2 (12 something) grandfathered here in Canada. Actually, even if you are Grandfathered, you can own them, but you can't take them to range. On a positive note, this September 22nd, Candice Hoeppeners private members Bill C-391 is going to a vote to abolish the 2 billion dollar waste of money regarding the Liberals "Long Gun Registry".

Vote Conservative. Sorry, I don't want to turn this into a political debate. Infact, I think that may be against the rules, but if you're Canadian and you love firearms.... Be it replicas or real.... You really only have one option in this country.

No problem on the political rant there Derek-

Out of a membership of a thousand or so, there's like what... ten of us Canucks?

As for getting a firearms license- I don't think I'll ever go for it. Owning a gun just isn't high on my list of priorities, and being married to a wife who hates guns... Not gonna happen.
