The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I'm starting this thread now because chances are I will not be attending D*Con 2014 (nor D*Con 2015) due to a number of issues so I want to make sure that the reigns are picked up and I figured it's a good a time as any to get the ball rolling.

Someone will need to apply for, confirm and liase with D*Con staff about the fan table as well as be at the con to get it assigned Thursday evening.
Also someone will also need to sign up and confirm us for the parade as well as picking up the parade ribbons on Thursday or Friday.

Thanks HK.
You need to apply for the fan table via the website and the decision is left up to them.
http://www.dragoncon.org/?q=fan_application_form
Apps' open up Feb 15th

We've been attending for many years and they've come to know us as a strong group who takes pride in our table (monitoring and display) so I like to think we're an easy decision.
That being said make sure you apply as soon as they become available as the tables are limited and the con is increasing in size and attendance.

I'm happy to help with whatever I can- but as I'm not attending DCon 14, while I can arrange the parade ribbons again, I will need to have someone else pick them up.

Who would like to do that?

As for the meal, I'm starting the conversation with Munkey- Same place- Pittypat's Porch- great food, great place, worked with us, I see no reason to go anywhere else.

I'm hoping to make it to the meal this year, and would vote for Pittypat's Porch as it seems to have worked very well last year - And sounded delicious.

I do think that is the best place we have had in a while. It has my vote.

Thanks!

No doubt. Pittypat's was easily the best place we've been.

Well, me and Gman will take over the meal if you are not going Rex.

Depending on what is needed for the parade ribbons, I will do them too. Shoot me a PM

Will do so Sgt. Munkey!

I'll get you the email addy for the parade ribbons. It's not too tough- "Hi, Kev, Rex & Tony can't make it this year. I'm the Colonial Marine Rep for 2014.

We will be doing the Color Guard again this year, and we will be needing 60+ ribbons for the parade."

I always order more than I think we might need, as it's near impossible to get extra after you've placed the initial order. They "sell" out.

Spat, yes!! Stay away from the Salad Bar by all means!!

Shoot, I'm missing the peach cobbler!!! Everyone was so full last year, Dru and I took back...extra!!

Have a Great Time guys and gals, I'm missing you all already.

Did you know...

Image

...that the Aid to the Civil Power Award is warded to a uniformed member for service to one's community or for the donation of blood while in Colonial Marine attire?

Every year, Dragon*Con has a blood drive. Donating blood during this convention while in uniform is an easy way to pick up an additional ribbon and potentially save a life. Consider donating blood if you're not intoxicated and well fed.

I can't donate because my blood pressure's higher than they'll allow..

In other news, those of you with hotel reservations at the Hyatt Regency should check to see if you still HAVE them, apparently there's been a bunch of room cancellations by the hotels claiming "insufficient funds" and such.
