Official Event: The Mothman Festival

In 1966, Point Pleasant West Virginia suffered the beginning of what would become a year of strange events that would climax with the unfortunate collapse of the Silver Bridge.

Jeff Wamsley, The Director of the Festival, has organized the annual Mothman Festival and invites folks from any and everywhere to come explore the mystery of those events between 1966 and 1967, particularly the Mothman himself.

I spoke with Jeff today, and he was very open to welcoming us to attend the event.

To this day, sporadic sightings of the Mothman, who has been described as looking like a winged Demon, have still been reported by Locals, though the sightings today are not and often as in 1966 and 67.

In addition to the Mothman, Point Pleasant also was ground zero of an equally large number of sightings of UFO’s, and the residents of this area also had to endure the unwelcome presence of “The men in black” during this same time period.

Last year September, I did in fact attend the event, and so did members of the 501rst. In my view, if the Empire sees reason to recon this area, the Colonial Marines also have a vested interest. There are also several lectures and events planned for the weekend.

You know that I will be there. All dressed up and ready for action.

OK, our small attachment is due to arrive at this drop location Friday 20th low key, and Saturday 21rst in uniform. This will be, to my understanding, the first drop into this event. We expect a small 501rst presence and will post intell shots upon our withdrawal.

OK, I will ad more photos of the drop once I have access to them. Most where taken on a different camera than mine and I won't get them until Sunday night. I will likely make a new thread for them in the ready line, but, if you guys are anything like me, and I know we do have this in common, I love pics, even if I am not in them of drops, so here is the only one I can presently post.

Sorry I missed this, as I am a huge fan of the late John A Keel (hence my sig) and his research that included the high strangeness attributed to the 'Mothman' between 1966-67.

Yea, but I ended up posting them in their own thread in the readyline threads. I believe I called it drop photos and the intent was for it to be a general point for folks to post pics from all sorts of various drops. I never put anymore here once I did that but I might since you went looking for them. If you want to see them, that means others want to see them to. I will work on that.
