Had to show you guys this one. This chick walked by our table (the nice thing about being located by the ladies room). She was dotted like comic book print. She told me it took over 4 hours to make all the dots with a pencil eraser. I told her next time I can do it with a template and airbrush in 45 mins. Got her e-mail for next year...LOL.

Just want to reiterate that the credit for the location goes to Girlspectre, who has been suggesting we try the Westin for some time now. This year we finally reached the tipping point of the Hyatt being too crowded to even bother doing a Sweep there, much like how we reached the same tipping point with the Marriott a few years before.

25-Serria (I believe it was) also mentioned to me that, apparently, the manager of the Westin has strongly requested that we notify him before doing next year's Sweep... because he thought it was AWESOME and wants to be able to watch the whole thing next year. xD

The idea you described of having Xenos in the bar area was, believe it or not, precisely the plan Tony and I came up with when we scouted the Sweep route prior to the event. I figured there would be plenty of camera attention down there on the lobby level to keep them entertained while waiting for us to show up, and then plenty of space for us to "duke it out" without being in the way of the crowds. Alternatively, there are plenty of twists and turns and corners for Xenos to creep around behind us, picking unlucky Marines off one by one until the final confrontation.

Unfortunately the Xenos were not available this year, but hopefully we should be able to plan a little better for 2014 now that we know this is a viable location. This year's route was put together pretty much at the last second; if the Westin hadn't turned out to be such a good spot for it, there might not have been one, so again, thank Jessica.

I believe she also said last year 'more bacon' in the cornbread - GENIUS!!

So for 2014 we need Xenos, a time to be at the table to get geared up, videographer (one on each team, but Aarons was awesome) and a little more preratation so people know what's going on.

The main thing that would bring Xenos for the colony sweep would be to not schedule it mere hours after the parade. That said, it's looking very unlikely that Abe will be in the parade next year.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the main reason for doing it Saturday afternoon has always been that that's the day most of us are in our USCM gear. We've also got the dinner occupying that evening, as well.

I can definitely understand your concern, though... as rough as the parade can be wearing the SG rig, I can't imagine what it's like wrapped up in a rubber oven. I'm gonna go ahead and start a thread for discussing ideas for next year's sweep.

Xenos or WY Mercenaries would be good for interaction, second that.
And videographer like Aarons in/for every team.

How about giving it a theme Search and rescue (Newt) or Serach and Destroy (Xenos) or WY ambush during sweep.
And announce this to the (bar, ...) manager.

Have some places in between for group shoots, etc.
