The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Harry Harris down and clear.

I'm absolutely exhausted but very happy. I think the blur that I saw over the weekend was the event going really really well!

A HUGE thanks to ADC, Darren and Malika for all they did to make the biggest Aliens convention to date an amazing success. It was a pleasure to display the collection and to hear all the positive comments about it, and the same goes for presenting the panels too - that was great fun; despite being so tired I somehow introduced Jeanette Goldstein at one of them! Maybe it was just wishful thinking that she'd be there as well!

Sadly because I was either presenting or with my exhibition I didn't really get to see anything else, I did catch a glimpse at the RPB table and as always it was great to see Steve and Martin. I didn't get to do the A.E. this time though. Maybe one year I'll just dress as an Alien egg and just sit there in a corner all day, opening my petals. No wait, that just sounds wrong!

I should also extend a very special thanks to Gareth and the Clangers who, along with ADC and Darren helped break the exhibition down and load it back onto the truck on Monday. Many hands make light work; thank you.

Harry

Cheers again, Harry - Perhaps next time we do anything like this, it'd be an idea to save a half hour in the morning for a quick overview of who's doing what and when, and try to make sure that everyone has a slot free to not only have lunch, but to go see the other display / repeating stuff as well?

Ahh well, never mind Harry. I guess none of us will ever bear you any grudge about that little misshap or to put it with an Edward Norton Quote: "I suppose these things happen..." 8)

Well, Harry in that very context with Gareth I couldn't agree more. And finally on top of that he gave me the needed lift to Stanstead (extra tour like; again a big thank you Gareth!!!) and even though once I arrived at the airport things started getting slightly hectic I still made it and finally a few hours ago brought all my "loot and treasures" safely home. All that's left for me to do now is sorting out my recent sleep deprivation (again last night at the bar was very long but equally excellent!!!) so from now I shall "enjoy the gravity" in my bed in a minute.

S R zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzsigning off

Good night, y'all & keep dreaming nicely down clear and happy

We did it! We put on the best Aliens convention ever!

And, the proof is that I want to do it all again - This weekend coming! ;)

Massive thanks to ADC for taking the amazing foundation of previous NSC events and moulding it into a hardcore Aliens convention, for arranging guests and still having time to organise filming of the panels so that people who were unable to see them on the day will have a chance to see them! Your dedication and persistence is legendary.

Malika - as always, the event couldn't have happened without your geekery, hard work and more than anything: your immense trust in every one of us. The fact that you give us the main building and in particular the Challenger suite to do these incredible things, and also pin the NSC's reputation on us is something that no other venue management would do. For all of that, thank you!

Darren - amazing work on herding cats (UKCM/RPB/... cats), allocation of responsibilities and being an advocate of an Aliens-only event. I didn't know if it could be successful but with a load of hard work is seems that it was! I'm sorry that I missed the film showing, but I'm sure there will be another showing very soon!

DATA, thanks for getting my car going again. You saved me a load of hassle and saved Claus a load of worry. You're the man with the tools, the means and the skills!

As for the AE - it seems it was the best yet! This was down to everyone involved, but Rich was the one who pulled it all together and made it work better than ever. I apologise (especially to the overworked Aliens) that I didn't get in there and do even one shift, and I'm so disappointed that I didn't. However, whenever I was around Challenger I could hear the screams ...

Anyway, what a weekend!

And ... 5 years? Really?

Roll on many more!

UKCM!!!

*********AFTER DROP REPORT**********

******** REPORT POSTED BY Pvt HOHENKERK AND EXECUTIVE OFFICER SHORT**************

Sorry couldnt help myself.....

As I posted befor me and Liz are down and clear but still havn't recovered, for some reason work just isnt fun now I dont have NSC to look forward too!

I just wanted to post up a huge thank you to all your guys for an amazing weekend. I though I knew what to expect out of this weekend, a little quiet time sat on a desk, a slow wonder around the space centre. a quiet weekend with a little geekyness thrown in.....

...

..

.

Boy was I wrong!

I wish to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for what has been one of the most amazing weekends of my life. As soon as liz as I arrived we were instantly taken in as if we had been there from the first moment of the UKCM. Working with Techno and glen and hanging out with paul and matt and.....ahh crap every one all weekend was so much fun and the way you guys just took to liz, looked after her whilst i was running around like a marine on acid and made her feel like one of the team was beautiful. She was quite worried about this weekend, she though she might get a little bored and get a bit lost in every thing but she had the time of her life! shes allready planning for MCN in october, even talking about getting UKCM patches. A special thanks goes to Bazfish, on sunday you kept checking in on liz whilst I was in the AE or manning the smartgun and she is really thankfull for that, especially on the saterday when we where having our photos done, you instanly just pulled liz in, making her part of the UKCM, part of the family.

Thank you all so much. I dont know how else I can say it!

If you havnt grabed either of us on facebook please do!

We will see you guys in october, and it cant come soon enough!

HOOORAAA MARINES!!!!

Can anyone remember the name of the vampire film he'd just made which Ricco mentioned at Sunday's panel?

Can't find any mention of it on imdb and the like.
