Is there any chance we can store our gear (armour, PRs, etc.) overnight at the Movieum?

It might be possible but I'd have to ask obviously.
The hotel is just round the corner if we do stay at the Premier Inn. Infact, Jonnie did say that you can get from the Premier into the Movieum without even going outside.
Personally I'd rather keep my gear with me but I imagine it will be quite safe there if you chose to leave it.

Cheers

Cheers for the info Steve. As I mentioned earlier, Jonnie may be able to arrange a discount at the Premier Inn for us all. I'll give it a couple of days and then call him to ask about any developments with that.

Cheers

I asked Johnnie about it again the other day and he said he will get back to me shortly. I'll give it till Wednesday and then I'll call him again. We obviously need to book ASAP and I understand the 501st will be attending also so space at the hotel could be minimal.

Cheers

I guess you can mark me up but that is money pending of course. Being unemployed doesn't leave much cash to splash. I could try one of my budget charactors though. Still I hope I can make it on Saterday. Can't stay in a hotel though. Might have to leave early but I am definately free on those days. Oh and Pug50, I think I'll accpet the invitation to come along. Save me a seat, I don't wanna be left to guard the ship.

Right, Spoke to Johnnie yesterday and unfortunately we can't get a discount code for the hotel at the moment. Internal politics and all that.

I'll phone the hotel and see if they have a group discount available, otherwise an alternative might be needed.

Cheers

Just spoke to the hotel, no discount for 5 or 6 rooms booked together. Didn't think they would to be honest but worth asking.

According to the website a twin room for 2 nights would be £218, so with 2 sharing £109 each.

Personally I may drive up early Saturday morning and skip a room on the Friday night and just stay on the Saturday. Thoughts?

Any one got a suggestion for somewhere else to stay that would be cheaper?

Cheers

Darren

Personally, because of the cost of hotels in London and only being about an hour away i might jump on train and go home, rather than stay in a hotel.. but it's early days yet.

Well so far I haven't found anything cheaper than £90 a night. That's for a Twin room at the Wellington in Waterloo hotel. Not too bad I guess if only staying for one night with 2 paying but it would mean a very early start for some people if they had to travel there on the Saturday morning.

http://www.marstonsinns.co.uk/Home/hotels/hotel-waterloo/wellington

I may book a room there if anyone wants to share and if others want to do the same but I will only book for the Saturday night.

Cheers

Karyn and I have already booked a room for Saturday night at the Premier Inn at County Hall.

We can only costume on the Sunday, we are travelling up on the Saturday.

We can change it if peeps are staying elsewhere.

Yep - Consistently, that's the cheapest I could find also.
That's £45 per person. Pretty reasonable, I think.

I'll take charge of the bookings.
Post up here if you want a room and state in brackets how many nights you will be staying for;

After speaking to Gareth, we have decided to book a room at the Premier after all. For the sake of an extra £10 for the one night and the fact that the Clangers have already booked we would rather be closer to the event. I'm going to book a room tonight for me and G. Thanks for the offer of taking charge of the bookings but I'll just organise my own thanks Woody. Less hassle really to be honest.

Cheers

Well, apparently, the Premier Inn is booked up for that weekend (Saturday night at least). They said to try nearer to the time.
I've booked a room at the Wellington and will try for the Premier Inn again later. Can always cancel the first one.

To be honest I dont think it matters too much of we spread out across the 2 hotels. We can leave our gear at he show on the Saturday night and the Wellington is only a five minute walk anyway.

Cheers

Darren
