The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Steve, theres been stuff blowing up all over FaceAche regarding the replica weapons policy at Expo, in a nutshell they have always turned a blind eye to their own policy, but due to apparent incidents at the last one, they are now supposed to be following the policy to the letter - basically no pulse rifles unless there brightly coloured.

G, that seems to be the typical sort of response from MCM nowadays - contradictory. Ive got a cached copy of the 2013 rules if you want them.

Rob, just as an aside, have the garrison had any contact from MCM about this? I realise the age old 'is the E11 a 'scifi ray gun' or a SMG with some rubber bits on' would apply here but it would be interesting to here if anything has been arranged.

Cheers for that matt :D Humm, kinda rips the guts out of it eh, no guns and all that. Good point about seeing what contact the UKG have had.

Also - What if Abe breaks loose eh?? Then they'd be sorry!!

I've not heard anything...

There is always a bit of leeway for organised groups I think. It happens every year that there are some 'issues', but it is a small minority and never seems to affect the next one.

I can ask some questions.

Rich, I normally park up outside a mates house that's nearby and we have a party!
But last Expo, I did park up in their car-park for one night. I paid for the ticket... what can they say!

Ok boys and girls i have spoken to Bryan at MCM regarding the weapons and as long as we follow UKCM carry rules we will be ok, these rules will be strictly enforced by us as we do not want any future problems which im sure you will all agree is in everyones best interest.

what's the plan General G Sir?
Are we doing the Friday to the Sunday or just Sat and Sun. Also is any one interested in going the MCM Expo party as it would give us we can go geared up?

Expo is usually quite light on guests, but this year does seem lighter than most.

We won't be having a table, free entry or any prescribed changing area (there will be the "cosplay cubicles" as usual, and find a corner at your own risk). If any one single person wants to attempt to negotiate such things then get in touch with me, but the last I heard a table would cost money.

Be aware that they will be cracking down on the ticketing - tickets will be required to enter the building (including the central corridor). I am guessing they will have a prescribed secured queue for buying/collecting tickets. Expect chaos - doubly so if it's raining.

Also be aware that they will be strict about weapons. I am told that we will be able to carry our normal loadouts BUT I want to people to be extra careful - prop weapons are to be covered when outside and play it by ear with respect to the underground carpark. If you are challenged about weapons, politely ask that they contact Bryan Cooney from MCM. I would recommend that you carry a black bin bag in your pocket at all times (in addition to you usual "proper" gun bag) in case you are challenged. Smartgunners will need to carry a huge condom.

I cannot make it on the Friday because of work (I will be there in the evening, hopefully by 7pm to checkin the hotel), but all are welcome to attend Expo as they see fit.

I'm going to be mincing about with the Garrison this weekend.

Anyone want to borrow my Armour and Pulse Rifle for the weekend?? If so, let me know and I'll bring it up with me.

so for this one I will be driving down on the Friday parking at the hotel (as its free) then heading into the preview show to test out travel times, show lay out etc. I was wondering what time everyone is thinking of getting to the hotel on the Friday and if anyone is thinking of doing likewise.

The organisers know us so they give us a little slack on the (very) strict weapons rules for the event. The UKCM carry rules and regs are here: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=11540 - we need to make sure they are followed closely and that no weapons are visible at any time outside of the building/event.

Your membership and association with the UKCM is dependant on following these rules and acting sensibly with replica weapons. (and reading all previous posts in threads ... ;) )
