The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Have you ever seen a Xenomorph try to make sense of the Tube map? It's not pretty!

When is Arfur arriving? I'll see if I can get there to keep an eye and take photos.

Just Marines, no Xeno this time. :)

I thought we were parking nearby, so was going to wear armour too, but my mate's just asked for the post code of the cinema, so it might end up BDUs only, as I won't want to carry stuff a long way.

Well, you might be better at conversation than Arfur. You able to meet up beforehand? What sort of time will you be there?

We're leaving Medway at 3pm, parking somewhere in central London, then finding somwhere to eat, looking to get to the cinema by about 5:30pm.

Nice to see G there today. :)

Report on quality of the film prints;

Alien: Definitely showing its age at certain points, with some scenes so bad with lines/spots on screen that it looked like a modern film which had been 'aged' way too much. Other scenes looked like new, so may have bern recent repairs.
Sound was a bit low at times too.

Aliens: Had a few blank screens, then a proper break which they had to repair.
It was just after Burke says "why don't we build a fire, sing a couple of songs?"
A staffer came out to apologise about the break in the film, a few people shouted about a free bar, then someone repeated Burke's line and we all laughed and applauded. :D

Alien 3 and Resurrection: Both faultless in visuals and sound.

All four films were only in stereo, no surround sound at all. That may be all the PCC can do.

All in all, a great night.

Had my pic taken a couple of times and a few posed with my PR for their own pics. :)

Good to see you too! Glad you're getting on well. Wish I could have stayed - I just watched Alien and Aliens at home. :(

PCC does have a Dolby Digital setup in both screens. The older film prints would have Dolby Stereo soundtracks which the DD decoder should have decoded? Sounds like they might have had some technical problems.

I couldn't even see any speakers near the back. There only seemed to be speakers either side at the front and about halfway along each side. :|
