The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

You wont have to drug me... Although I have no current Alien / Aliens / Alien3 inspired costume, still waiting on half of my Gorman C uniform arriving, so I might have to attend as some kind of team mule / photographer if it doesn't arrive in time!

:) Thanks Si!

I might have to start buying games mags again... I stopped in the mid-90s because they started to get a bit pants. But if they're gonna start featuring MEEEEEEEEEEE! more often, they can't be all bad. ;)

I'd say he read the article and took it very negatively H.

However, I thought he(writer) missed the mark altogether (D) and that Abe came out on top yet again (A,B & C).
A, you made him jump
B, he describes exactly the reaction we go for
C, made him swear
D, he thinks u are a profesional Alien

Guys someone needs to explain what the magazine actually said (post a scan maybe?) or you might as well chat between yourselves via PM. Anyone reading this still won't know what's going on unless they've seen the magazine.

I suppose you're right Si. I was being a Tart/Tw@t.

But he didn't capitalise "Alien". When will people learn that it's a proper noun in this context?

Hmm.... well two things spring to mind after reading that which Si already mentioned. Firstly I think you (Abe) proper scared him Gareth - nice one! Secondly he seems to think you're a full-time Alien performer.

Thanks for the pics Si.

OK, OK. I over-reacted.

Somehow, I didn't tie it into career as being an Alien and I thought he was somehow talking about my real job.

I don't think Abe did anything wrong...

I've been interviewed a fair bit for stuff I've done as well as reading/watching hundreds more. I've ften found that the critics are complete pricks. The only time I met one I actually liked was Jeremy Clarkson.

They don't care about much beyond the money-making aspect of "whatever dull new thing" it is they've been sent by their office to investigate. Critics criticise and most usually forget that criticism should be constructive.

Obviously you made him feel very small and scared and this is his brave comeback.
He only wishes he could have the kind of fun we do!!

:) Thanks guys.

Now... what does Abe have to do to become the Xenomorph equivalent of Camilla Parker-Bowles? Or is she popular now? I've given up reading the papers. :)

I should point out that Abe knows nothing about the cruise-control or steering systems of the Mercedes-Benz W140 ...

I'd class that as Epic Win, G :)

The journo clearly shat himself, and is lashing out to cover the fact.

Job Done.

Clearly that guy is holding a grudge, has no sense of humour and takes himself too seriously. A tosser for sure.
But that's not a balanced comment, Woody and I can vouch that most journo's are stand up guys. Some are my friends and you saying that is unfair in the same way people might make derogatory comments about costumers and people here -- I'd put them straight, too.

Gareth, when we take Abe to Future publishing to film those web virals I was talking about next year, we'll pop in to PC Zone and you can spooge over that guys desk and really piss him off!

I was making a distinction between critic and journalist.
Journalists do write well and usually objectively.

Critics, on the other hand, are paid to be subjective and supply an opinion. Half the time it is just that, with little actual involvement in or knowledge of the field of whatever they're criticising, let alone a care for it. I suspect they write some incendiary ramble because a judgemental, flaming demolition of something is sensationalist and sells better than a balanced, objective examination. This guy doesn't even have respect for people who liked and are still playing the original AVP games.

I personally see no difference between a high paid troupe of critics and a random selection of the general public.
