The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hi guys.

I havent visited here or posted for a very long time but I was hoping you guys could help me out.

I am very interested in purchasing a Hot Toys 1/6 scale USCM figure but would love to hear feedback and opinions on these from owners. Judging by the pics I have seen they look incredible though not enterly 100% accurate.

I have wanted to own a 1/6 scale USCM figure ever since I saw the EVA Rifleman Kit website at least 8-9 years ago. Hopwver, my modeling skill;s were pretty bad at the time plus this was long before the days of paypal etc so i never got round to ordering one. How does the EVA Rifleman kit compare to the Hot Toys version?

I apologize if this topic is covered in another thread but i did search the forum with no luck.

Id love to see pics of your 1/6 scale figures guys and any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Hello there!

I think HT's Colonial Marines are great figures. I own Hicks, Apone, Hudson, Drake and Ripley, and have the PL on pre-order.

I don't own any EVA kits, so I can't give you any comparisons, but here are my thoughts on the HT figures.

First off, they're pretty much kits, i.e. you have to put them together yourself, the first series you even have to put the torso/head/arms together!
All the gear and clothing you also have to put on yourself.

They are very detailed and mostly very accurate, you just have to leave a few things off and do a couple of repaints and headsculpt switches and you'll have a bunch of awesome looking marines.

If you repaint Apone, Ripley and Drake you'll see the likeness is not that bad (Apone's goatee and sideburns, and Drake's moustache and sideburns are just painted on). And if you repaint Hudson, you'll find out he looks much more like Hicks!
The uniforms just need a bit of weathering and they'll look much better.
The weapons and gear are all top notch, especially the pulse rifles and armour, those things are unbelievable!

For pics you can head to the sideshow freaks forums, look for the aliens thread, there's lot so of pics there.

As far as I know, Hot Toyz used the EVA models kit as their basis for doing their 1/6 scale figures...at least thats what the horses mouth said:) That should be testimony enough for ya..hehe..but all in all, Ill stand behind 100% of everything that EVA does...hes the best!!!

I sure miss him around here:(

Yes I believe Chris gave us details a little while ago that HT did take a lot of his details as well descriptions etc for the ir lineup.

I'll happily admit I own the HT Apone and it is awesome but I still feel guilty buying it knowing I could have gotten an original USCM EVA kit.

Roger that. :(

Chris's stuff was the best... and the detail was just insane! Unfortunately I was never much interested in collecting the 1/6 scale stuff -- as cool as his was. However my tune sure did change when his 1/6 scale APC project took off. There are no words on Earth appropriate enough to describe how utterly wicked that thing turned out.

One hell of a talented man, and one hell of a great guy. :D

Thanks for the information guys.

I have a HT Hudson figure on order as the Hicks figure is really hard to come buy now without having to spend over $200 on ebay :(

However, because I distinclty remember being blown away when I first saw the EVA website for the first time (a long time ago) and because Id like to do a USCM figure of myself, I think I will order a EVA Rifleman kit as well. I gather Chris still sells these kits right?

Im not really into collecting 1/6 figures but theres just something about the look of the USCM figures that I love.

Yes, Chris still makes and sells kits. He even offers some of the bits on their own incase you need an extra flame thrower or PR here or there.
