The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Do these look familiar? :)

These are castings of a Sulaco tile I've had made. I modelled it in 3D and then sent it to be milled out by computer. I've never tried this before but I was very pleased with the results!

I made them with a 1:4 scale diorama in mind - however I think they would make an excellent base for little models, props, maybe even those Hot Toys marines?

Here's one (roughly) painted silver:

I'll just mention that although they made little 1:4 tiles for the film itself, they were nothing like as detailed as these. These are as accurate to the big ones as I could make them.

And at this size they even make great coasters for your favourite beverage (cheesy or otherwise)!

I have put some on eBay. If you would like to buy any, please click one of the photos. ;)

Sorry Outcry, maybe I was too subtle about that. They're on eBay now, and I made the images links to the auction. :)

WOW these are great.
I`m going to have to get some of these.

Can i ask however, what are the chances of you have more milled via puter BUT at 1/18th scale?
I ask as I`ve been working on a lot of 1/18th scale USCM & these would be perfect for dio flooring.

If you could either post with a ye/nay on doing them again at 1/18th scale :D

ja

Don't worry Nickatron - even if they do sell out (unlikely) I can always make more. :)

Hey Mike,

Got mine & love it & all that`s missing is a Nice USCM Mug to atop the mat :D

Now what`s the chances you can do these at 1/18th scale too? Make them to fit the 1/18th (4") snap kit Hot Toys USCM too?

I`ve spent a fair bit amassing around 40 Marines so far & getting these to scale for 1/18th wuld truely make some dio bases more possible :D

Hope this is a possibility,if yes please pm me or post.

Ja

Awesome work Mike!

So is there a 1:1 scale floor tile project in the foreseeable future? I've got a garage floor that could benefit from a slight upgrade. ;)

Oh yeah -- and how much for the coffee mug with the distinguished English bloke on it?

Guys, the 1:1 tile is a bit bigger than this machine can handle. :( Your best bet there would be to ask someone with an original tile to copy it for you.

Ja... your 1:18 tiles would be quite small! You can feed the data in but I'm not sure how much detail would come out. Plus there's the job of moulding and casting them afterwards. I was going to say it isn't worth trying... but then again, if you don't try you'll never know. Tell you what - next time I have something milled, I'll tag your tile along with it. :) I might even try one at 1:6 for things like FNG's figures.

I think some people will be surprised when they see them at scale. Somehow they always look pretty big, as if you could stand on one - but in reality it's more like one per foot!

One Sixth Scale would be incredible bro! I'm working on a 1/6th Sci-Fi bar set in a space station (Hudson's Hangout) :D
And I'd love to use those as flooring! Otherwise, the larger tiles might work fine. The space is 48" x 24" How many of the larger tiles would I need?

The bar is intended as a meeting point for various sci-fi characters. At the bar will be a Colonial Marine, SST, a Predator, a couple Jedi. At a table might be Han Solo and Firefly's Mal and Jayne. And the list goes on. All just kickin' back, having a drink.

I intend to have a airlock type door, and a large "window" with a starscape. Should be pretty fun to build.
