The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

For those that haven't seen any footage of the new Alien Extermination arcade game go to Planet Pandora.
The footage has been compressed and thus doesn't do the graphics justice but it should give you an idea of the action packed game-play.
The vid is one whole mission out of a possible four and was filmed at an arcade in San Francisco during some much needed r&r.

Also fans of James Horner's score for Aliens will be pleased to hear he will be working with Cameron once again on 2009's Avatar, check out the news page.

I didn't realise some footage had already been posted at youtube, although this is a bit clearer.

I almost won Alien 3 : The Gun for £350 on eBay a few years back.
IIRC, it went for £355.

GUTTED!

You can use Aliens and Alien3 the Gun with the Mame32 emulator.

since we are talking about mame... (thanks to a certain member here...LOL) I now have it too... I have noticed many games listed for mame do not seem to run...

is there some trick to this? Dropping a game into the rom folder doesn't seem to do the trick most of the time.

The original purpose of MAME is to test arcade ROM images without the need for the original arcade hardware. People only see MAME as a way to play arcade games for free, and they forget that while a game may be listed in the "list of supported games" that doesn't mean that they are playable.

Some of the most recent games in fact won't run full speed even with the fastest computer currently available. :)

I hope that helps answer your question some.

Aww that sucks Rook... you know I would be MORE than happy... thrilled actually, for the opportunity to pay for arcade perecft versions of many arcade games... and if they ever release for example... Aliens the arcade game to a console or whatever.. I'll still buy it..

Until then.... mame it baby! :)
