The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

So got it today!

Gonna suit up fully and take some pictures, but got a few adjustments to work on. My Load Bearing straps on the front arent working that great, so I'm gonna redo those, and make a few more personal mods to it. But I gotta get some accurate BDUs and then I'll be set, so when you see this thread next I'll have my Army gear on underneath the armor, jsut for the hell of it for pics sake.

Looks fine to me. :D

Where did you get the paintjob done? That doesn't look like standart Spataflage, and unless you're a heck of a speed painter, if you just got it... ;)

But even with Army gear underneath (Urg!), you still look reasonnably bad ass!

It looks like Dom's paintjob on the BDU's, and I agree with Luinsar, looks awesome!!! Seems the current US pattern works pretty well.

Welcome to the Colonial Marines :)

ACU's look like they'll work fine. Like every other coustume, the work in progress will never end. If you're not upgrading the costume, you're getting new toys to go with it.

well you will have to thank Jayyy9 for the armor, as I got it from him, so he knows where the paint job came from.

But yes, I will upgrade the BDUs as my ACUs are rather uncomforatble with the armor. But im pretty sure we all know what my next upgrade is...

here is a hint...

It's not my paintjob, but it's definitely my armor.

Just out of curiosity, what's the number on the inside of the chest plate?

NIce! I've got a set of large/regular Pat1 BDUs if you're interested. It's the set on the right, less patches.

I used a light spray of black primer to give it a "powder burn" look, but there is actually a blackwash technique.

OK blackwashing is an art unto itself; it can make a camo pattern look perfectly distressed...

Or look like you are moonlighting as a chimney sweep.

One technique I used is close to what Joe mentioned about a light spray of primer- except I used the base colour of my camo pattern to lightly go over the camo pattern itself.

So if the base colour was olive drab- I lightly sprayed olive drab all over my multi-colour camo pattern. This gives the impression that the camo pattern paint is worn, faded, and old looking. ;)

If you have some charcoal or ash around. Just rub some onto your armour. Wipe off the excess then seal it with some Testors dull coat spray... Well that's what I did on my last set.

I just finished applying all patches and figured it's about time I get around to taking some pics of my gear too. (Tony, emailed to you for the charter site) It's only the beginning for mods, but it will work for All-Con.
