Post subject:  UKCM Help

Hey Guys,

Well I want to make some 4" UKCMs but first off I want as much help as possible from you guys :D

Could you guys in the UKCM help out with photos of:-
A, UKCM Patches (all types).

B, Front & Rear photos of Fully Geared up UKCMs.If different to USCMs.

C, Front & Back Officer (if anyone`s taken that approach).

D, DO you guys wear the Royal Marine Green Beret`s with either the RM badge or modified varient to show the Space aspect?

E, Camo.Is MoD DPM still used or have we stuck to the USCM type?

I`ve got a great vehicle design i`m working on for a UKCM section & now want to have the marines to go with it But keep them as you guys have done. Must admit I could do my own idea but as you guys are established I`d rather do a tribute to you lot than my own idea with the 4" Marines.

Thank`s

Ja

Hey ja

Go here and you'll see the UKCM patches compared to the USCM ones.

As for the rest of the costume, it is exactly the same as our USCM brethren.

We had one guy, can't think of the name right now, who did a Lieutenant costume at the NSC last year but again, asides from the patches, it was as close to the screen version as possible.

Cheers

Darren

Thank`s very much Darren.

Appreciate the link to the patches & info.

I think I may do a SGT with Royal Marine beret on though just for that traditional look ;)

Again Thank`s.

They are good looking patches.

Of course I respect the work and effort of our designers who created them (especially as a graphics man myself) but I can't help but think though that the UKCM ought to have some more differences.
For example the Sulaco patch clearly bears a "Stars and Stripes" design, with the stripes in the shield and the stars around. The UK version is basically identical bar the names.
It might have been nice to have made the design a little less US and a little more British. What does everyone else think?

I also kind of wish the UK delta had the correct "Union Flag" spacing for the white and red crosses.

The stripes on that might be correct to the UK flag, but they just look like a missprint. :|

I had tried that variation, but it just looked odd. Works better the way it is now.

It's all down to personal taste of course.
I personally prefer it that way.
I like the fact that it's not symetrical.
