Marines!

Good News. I had a discussion with a worker for HCG about the new M41-A Pulse Rifle.

Here is some news that was inboxed to me over e-mail.

"Thank you for your email! We are very close to announcing the pre-order for the Pulse Rifle, which we are all very excited about!

It features aluminum shrouds, metal folding stock, metal vent, removable mag and a counter which sets to "95" when the mag is inserted. The grenade launcher also moves in an authentic pump action! The shrouds etc are also completely accurate to a screen-used "Hero", which no other PR has ever got very close too. It is also the correct "Brown Bess" paint color on the shrouds.

It will come with a themed wall display mount & the price will be around $899.

Sounds ace to me!

What are your views.

Interesting. May pick up just for the shrouds and display. Was hoping more extras, like counting down when trigger pulled, but I am spoiled. Already have 2 PRs and the one just arrived from Matt! How easy will they be for that side of the pond to get?

Thanks!

Greg

Do they have an idea on the amount they will produce?
I'm wondering how quickly they will sell out.

At $900.....I'd definately try to grab one of these.

Well, i suppose it's the typical production line.

I'm deffo to get one. I'd like an actual lisenced Pulse Rifle.

But yeah, i agree with SPAT.

Personally It would be nice to have a battle damaged one.

Hehe
:x

I actually prefer my props to be pristine, and add weathering to my own taste if I desire.

The MR motion tracker was supposed to be weathered- not my cup of tea. Done improperly it comes off as sloppy silver paint blobs and strokes (fortunately the MR tracker had a minimal amount of weathering).

And I've warmed up to Brown Bess.

I'm just hoping I see them here in Canadaland.

Hi everyone

Sounds like a nice item to have but how do things stand with customs for importing what is still essentially a RIF into the UK?

Pulse Rifles unfortunately are an area on contention when it comes to replica firearms.

By letter of the law a Pulse Rifle is not a replica firearm because it does not accurately resemble within reason an exsisting modern firearm.

However a Pulse Rifle is constructed using componants of existing firearms- importing componants to create an RIF is illegal (unless they are painted bright colours?).

Really it boils down to how a customs agent would react upon seeing it. A Pulse Rifle while being a fictional weapon from a sci-fi film, is still extremely realistic looking in the eyes of the general public.

For instance Steve (PVB) bought a full scale Lancer replica (from Gears of War) and it arrived painted bright gold from tip to tip. A Lancer is pretty far removed from anything realistic. I don't know of any modern firearms that have a chainsaw attachment.

Personally I wouldn't try to import one, however I tend to be overly cautious. I'm sure there will be local suppliers who have done the leg work necessary to import an item like this for resale.

This is the same problem we have getting anything into Australia. Not a hope. I'd love to get one of these, but as I said, not a hope. Be nice if someone made them here in AU

In the UK you'd have to prove you were entitled to a defence or exemption from the VCRA to import it.
