The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Post subject: my 3d printed and real parts smartgun headset

I recently finished this smartgun headset. It is a mix from real parts (blue ring, olympus t-28, beyer dynamic, pentax lens, megatron scope) and 3d printed parts. I had collected these parts over the years, even bought a resin 3d printer with the intention to create the issing parts in 3d. But alas my 3d design skills are nowhere near adequate for such complicated parts. Then a GERCM member pointed me to cults3d where this summer Tronchavigas¨ uploaded just his amazing design for just the parts I was missing! They are so precise, that it is as if the were made for each other. which off course they are, but I mean how the insert for the megatron scope was made with such small tolerances, very impressive.
Printed it all on my elegoo mars pro with finest settings, spraypainted it with custom made ¨brown bess¨ and its done.
overall a joy to build and a nice upgrade for my wooden and founds parts sight.
I did make some small changes from his build, the megatron scope part is angled /sanded so that it can swivel to some degree, just like the propstore pics I used as reference. I used electric cable cut open as lining for the eye piece and cable shrinking tube to cover the mic tip.

Now that this improved headset is finished I feel like building a more accurate smartgun . .Tronchavigas also made 3d parts as add on for an airsoft mg42.

Epsilon, excellent work! I am working towards putting together an M56 Head Mounted Sight (HMS) as well and have gathered most of the needed parts.

the 3d printed one I have actually has working electronics. My issue is weight that I have to figure out a way to deal with.
