The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hi all, there seems to have been a drop of concept art from this seemingly cancelled movie. looks like it might have been good :(

the pics at the 7 min 45 mark make me happy and sad in equal measure

After seeing this . I don't think this could have possibly been anything close to what I was hoping for. The "facehuggers" being more like oceanic slugs, digging into the body wherever. The hint that there was a "battle between a king and queen alien" as a call back to the power loader battle, very jurassic park, king kong style as they trash the facility and the heroes scamper around them. "Saved by the queen!". The ocean oil rig platform. The fan service hints, the call backs to Aliens. This seems dark and lonely and hopeless from the color tone the weapon tech appearing much like other blomkamp designs and with a bio mechanical, spinal look. They took all the usual ingredients and just changed the shape of the recipe and the spices. like, formulaic, predictable fan service. If the moment Ripley hooks up a smart gun happened it would be clear fan service, they expect a big "hoorah" from the audience but I would have just cringed. "oh no the warheads are slowly getting eaten by acid, we have a limited time!" I feel like I would have walked out after the credits feeling my heroes story ended wrong. Fox probably just didnt wanna pay for it and it wasn't Marvel enough and full of implied social politics.(besides the queen defeating the king of course. I feel like if I wrote the screenplay based on all the concept art, it would be 80% identical to the real thing. Someones got to befriend Neil Blomkamp and get the whole story.

I don't think that Neil Blomkamp directed "Elysium" by himself.

I'd be curious to know why you think that.

Basically a light bulb went off in my head at 3am while I was watching it for the 50th time and drinking beers. I kinda just blurted that out without having my theory ready. If I state the theory its gonna sound stupid. But he is being sued for allegedly stealing the screanplay and heres an article about governments involvement in movies. https://www.independent.co.uk/voices/ho ... 18191.html

Sorry if I veered the thread off course...
