Post subject:  1/18th Scale USCM action figures (WIP)

Earlier this year discovered these Amazing 4 inch Action figures by JOYTOY.

What makes them Great (IMHO) is they can be taken apart. So from a customisers point of view, perfect base figure. Add also a HIGH level of articulation is included with these Action Figures too.

So decided as Hot Toys Snap Kit 4" and the HIYA 4" Colonial Marines have major fragile flaws, it would be Great to build some more robust Marines.

First off was Armour. Key the Torso and shins. Shoulders can be added later but these two are More important. Also as you can see Posability is Still kept.

So after some playing about and casting, I have resin clamp shell armour (M3 is clamshell anyway), so makes it Removable too.
The shins I opted to make use of the JoyToy ability to disassemble so the plan is swappable Shins.
So the figures can be shown in BDU"s or Geared up in Armour.

Anyway this is where I am at present.
Also started hand painting some of he JoyToy figures into USCM BDU camo similar to the film.

Outstanding work Tecknoviking!

Right - that's it. I'm selling off the two Hiya Toys marines I have and buying some of these beauties. Where did you get the USCM torso armour from?

The Marine Armour are Hot Toys snap kit casts.

Slush cast the armour and cut down the sides. As said clamshell effect then.

I may relook at cutting off the shoulders and just do front and Rear armour. With New seperate shoulder pieces i will sculpt andncast. Then attach together with thin webbing to bring it all together.

Be awesome to devise actual securing sides. So another thing I am looking at.

Of course If Iwant to just gave armoured marines. Could just glue Casts to upper torso. That is An easier option haha
