Ok - I scored at the half price books today and got the following alien novels - which order should I start reading in ?

Alien covenant origins by Alan dean foster

Alien covenant novelization by Alan Dean foster

Aliens - alien harvest by Robert Shockley
Aliens - genocide by David bischoff
Aliens book 2 - nightmare asylum by steve perry
Aliens book 3 - the female war by steve and Stephanie perry

I'd try and pick up Alien Earth Hive if you can. Earth Hive, Nightmare Asylum, and Female war are a trio. Genocide and Harvest come after those. Those can be read before the others or after. But 1-3 go in order with recurring characters. Cold Forge and Covenant are separate stories, so continuity arent an issue.

Read Covenant Origins before the film novelization but be warned: he wrote the novelization first and then the prequel, so the character development from the prequel is not carried over into the film adaptation. It is a minor quibble though.

Cold Forge has a sequel that just came out last week titled ALIEN: Into Charybdis, so keep an eye out for that one as well.
