Post subject:  Anyone used Alclad Brown Bess yet?
As per the title heading, what has been anyone's experience of using this?

Reason I ask, I've been having terrible trouble using this in my airbrush as it keeps clogging the thing up.

I have a Paasche suction feed airbrush and a generic gravity fed brush, but in both cases it repeatedly clogs the nozzle.

Made sure the airbrushes had been thoroughly cleaned, shook the bottle thoroughly for 2-3 mins to ensure it was mixed properly, but it just gums up each time and doesn't want to spray.

When cleaning out afterwards, there's like these insoluble lumps that look like tea leaves.

Anyone else had this problem?

Got a picture of the bottle?
that usually happens to me when I use acrylic. you might wanna ad some good thinner to it, just a tiny amount.

Its not acrylic, tried thinning it with white spirit, then cellulose thinners. Neither had any effect.

Gonna try straining it next time.

Post subject:  mr color leveling thinner
the little screens that go in a kitchen faucet should work to strain it. I read that "mr. color" leveling thinner works well with Alclad.
Ive used so many different thinners and paint types that it's all a jumble in my head now. I used to put two drops of very strong thinner in my airbrush, then dump in paint and put my finger over the end while I sprayed it. this made it bubble and mix really well while coating the nozzle of the airbrush in thinner. That's about all I know about that.

Had a reply back, they said its something to do with the "matting agent"...

What you are having issues with is the matting agent.
This has become separated over time.
The way to remove this is to add a couple of small Stainless Steel balls and shake
for as long as it takes blend the agent back in.
I know this isn't the greatest fix, but it will work
Sorry that you have had this issue.
We have stopped using this matting agent now, although this is the
first issue that has arisen with the product.

Well the bottle already has a couple of stainless steel balls in it, so I guess I'll try shaking it for longer.

I'll also try straining.
