I was recently enough to come into possession of this lovely bit of kit, and I thought y'all here might get a kick out of seeing it :)

The pull is so nice that you can even see Terry's touchmark clearly on the chest-piece :D

It's a pretty heavy set - certainly the weightiest of any I've worn ( And I think I've tried all the major vendors by now! )... Then again, it was built to take punishment - Something that those of you who have acted in the Alien Encounter ( Or, indeed, Alien War itself ) will know was a very necessary consideration ;)

The ab pad is riveted to the chest piece for solidity, too.

There have actually been some upgrades done to this that were not part of the original Alien War build.
Aside from the waffle-pattern camping mat on the inside surfaces; there's a light-up dropdown sight in the ( Also fibreglass ) helmet - Either a Spatcave Studios unit, or a copy thereof, powered by 4 AAA batteries hidden in the top of the helmet; a little MAA-cam pouch under the lobster plate, and a genuine Pentax lens in the very nice resin cast camera.

On the belt, we have a couple of nice foam-block replica pouches, and a real pop-gun belt tool.

The straps have a bunch of grenades, all resin with a nice metallic paintjob, and a replica rubber knife in a real leather sheath; and there's a very nice shoulder-lamp consisting of a resin box/handle/arm assembly, with a real Reflecta lamp, properly reconfigured to the filming setup and wired to a D-cell battery box.

Got a nice little welder as well, resin kit with a pretty decent BB paintjob.
Overall, I'm really happy to have been given the opportunity to own this! It's a piece of Aliens fandom history - And it's been fascinating comparing it to my Terry English set, and friends' Chef/Spatcave/Goldenarmour etc sets! :D

I thought the dietrich sets alien war had were the stunt sets, with the scooped collar. this looks like the full size hicks/hudson one.
top trapezoid is tall and neckline goes straight across. should be 15" at center line. I think you just struck gold.

Yeah, seems this might be a later casting, been chatting to Harry about it trying to nail it down!
Will update as I find out more :)

I was also about to chime in that I have a Dietrich cast from then and that one looks full sized. Taller overall and the ab plate much larger and more crisp in the ridges.

Also the cod-piece is def a 'newer' style one. The originals were mostly round without any ridges. That 3-segment style with the 2 ridges came from Terry later.

Got a pick of the helmet ear flap portion? Could be a tell-tale sign if the hinge is 'low' or relatively even with the helmet brim. Many of Terry's replicas from the 90s had the left side ear assembly too low for some reason. Could also help to date it.

AMAZING score regardless. And those accessories! The lamp! droooool.

I sell one armour like that for a couple of months..
U just can’t find the Terry stamp on it, because the armour was broken at that area, and I reconstruct
that part by myself...

I have one of the Dietrich fiberglass sets from John Riddell, and the breastplate definitely looks different... The neck was lower on mine, and the bottom part of the breastplate had the upper armor plate from the ab pad as a contiguous partof the breastplate mold. I had to dremel it off to make it like a normal breastplate. Also, it came with a separate upper ab armor plate, which definitely does not look like the one above. It was relatively flat, and narrow.

Just to clear up any confusion, this is my old set I moulded and cast myself from a TE set. Has no connections to alien war. Had to sell sadly to fund a house move.
