The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hi guys,

Would anyone happen to have any spare cuts of the "Dutch Army sleeping Mat" that was used to line the lobsters. I'm having a bit of trouble sourcing this.
Happy to pay!!

Thanks in advance

I have a question about that mat. How thick is it? If it’s thick, do you slice it in half to make it thinner? Then apply it to the lobster plates?

You do have to slice it to half it's thickness.
Most of the rolls which are available are 16-18mm thick.

Here's a thread, from a time back, that includes numbers.

Wooo! more reference photos to further bring my computer to a grinding halt!
I also have to do this so my lobster plates dont trash the back of my armor. might use yoga mat, but it's hard to find in OD green or brown.

"Looks like a pastry"...

At the time, I think cpl Smith was seeing an optical illusion. For a second the dried glue looks like it is puffing outward... when actually the piece is curved inward.

"Out of stock"... So close.

Talked with the shop there, and it wasn't a typo. At least I/ we now know Dutch Sleeping Mats, in 8mm thickness, actually exist out there.
