The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I've been in several paramilitary organizations, and have been taught the "correct" way to sew nametapes on a uniform is to fold the ends over, and sew it directly over the top edge of the breast pocket. Does it drive anyone else nuts that the on-screen uniforms have the ends of the nametapes cut (and fraying) with a gap between the pocket and the nametape? How does everybody sew theirs on?

"Accurate" over "correct" for me. I have seen people who do it "correct" and it just looks off to me. I toss my vote to the wrong accurate way.

I save quibbles over accuracy for depictions of real world military forces. There a lot of things the Colonial Marines do that we just have to assume are standard procedure in the 22nd century.

Agree Retro. we dont have a lot of backstory on the Sulaco crew. They were apparently expendable and totally comfortable with their lifestyle, acted more like theyd been army, surfing in nam, and bored of killing humans. It's anyones guess on practically anything related to command.

I agree with Retro.
It’s a sci-fi film with actors and guys in suits jumping around pretending to be aliens.... not a documentary!

A docudrama. That would be a fun watch...
