The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Dropship and the protons look great. Guess these are original props.

Isn't someone somewhere making a large scale Dropship for sale? Sure I saw something on line, maybe the RPF or Studio Scale Modellers? It was a while ago...I will go for a trawl and see what I can find ( just out of interest as I could not afford one anyhoo)

Wait, is that really a drop ship from the movie?? or a well made look-a-like. For a second I thought it was CGI.

It's definitely the real-deal, just photographed really well. Provenance aside, in normal daylight and up close you'd know it was the original one, mostly because it's so beaten up! :)

Reaper: I have a dream of building a lifesized replica of Serenity and running it as a B&B (Companion not included). From there I'd expand to the Millennium Falcon, a Trek shuttlecraft, etc. Now adding Dropship to the list 8)

That must be a Halcyon ship of some kind. It looks great but he missed out the Matra pod slightly and some nose antennas/receivers. He also forgot to apply the ships serial number on the dive breaks (and some other smaller details), but my god it is beautiful painted.

Wonder if the shaft beneath the pods is for a RC control so it can open and close the pods?

Makes me want to start to build my own kit that have been off for a few years. I ruined it struggling to re-furbish the front so I have to backtrack and re-model it again now when one have better tools and much more XP. There is some serious issues around that part on the halcyon ship as well as with the cockpit. Whole thing is far too blunt. I wonder if it had something to do with the space limitation in the mold.

Edit: Or is it? Darn its hard. I have to check it with some original pics.

Well now I actually too believe that it is from the movie. Its slightly refurbished and some details and pieces missing. Looking at the port bottom weapon station several pieces has fallen off and one can really make out the fit marks on the inside rack. Also the nose V/UHF is missing but there surely is a hole where it was before.

Still want to do my Halcyon kit though.
