The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

i want to be able to carry posters around at cons to get signed when im armoured up, so need to come up with a way of incoporating something into the costume. i was thinking of making something like a collapsable rocket launcher, which could hang off my back, and i could fit the posters into.

The question is, are there any weapons like that in the tech manual? i wanna keep things accurate, so cant just make weapons up! :P

Why not just use a LAW tube? They are collapsible, small, easily transportable.

Then again, you could use an artillery round canister. :)

There's the M5 RPG which is kinda like a WWII Bazooka.

The Phased Plasma Infantry Gun (PIG), looks like an AT4.

M83A2 SADAR which is the closest to a LAW as it is a tube in tube extendable design, though the M83A2 has a pistol grip and the Law doesn't.

I am fairly certain non-canon is allowable for this role... after all, the Tech Manual itself is not canon but is considered more of a "guide"... so long as it looks right, you're safe. :)

I've made the IMP Pack and the rockets sits nicely on the top without moving.
The SADAR you can sling to the side of the pack using simple webbing and velcro or a snap button if necessary.

Images swiped from the tech manual for your inspiration...N-Joy...

M112 HIMAT

Measurements listed if they were mentioned..otherwise you're on your on your own...;)

3inch PVC scales out to about 75mm diameter, good for the SADAR...

The RPG scales out at 60mm, to be about 2 3/8 tube, not really big enough to house many posters.

I'd make a HIMAT launcher assembly, it has a handle.., Make a decent tote if you built it right.

Go now...create!

I'll do some "poor man's scaling" of the HIMAT for you and see if I can come up with some viable measurements.

Just make sure of two things:

1. You can put and remove posters from the container/prop without damaging them.

2. That the tube is deep enough to hold most size posters (probably standard movie poster width plus a couple of inches would probably be the best.

Good luck and great idea too!
