The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hey saint?

Did you use the correct switchgear for GPZ750 without the red button or did you cheat and use the more common one with the red button?

I'm certainly having trouble finding one without the red button and I was wondering if you've customized it yourself or if you bought it like that? Also, most of the switchgears I find have text that is almost completely faded out (already have two of these) so I also wonder if any of you have "reprinted" the text on these or if you just accepted that the text was fading and see it as a battle damage or wear thingy?

I got lucky my switchgear didnt have the extra button.
As for the lettering on it i left it faded.

Hello all, Well I have started to collect all the parts for the SG. Does anyone know what brake lever was used on the end of the gun?
Thanks, Painkiller

I've been collecting parts as well - I have a bead on a set of AR125 footpeg hangers thanks to one of this forum's UK blokes, GPZ switchgear is on the way, and I've already got the drum mag. Next step is my Matsucorp MG42. I've got some extra cash headed my way at the end of this month which is perfect timing. : Hopefully the rest of Matsuo's resin conversion pieces (i.e. the parts that have to be hand-made) will be ready soon. ...Got my fingers crossed for Jesse to have time to finish his headset and vest kits before DragonCon, too, lol.

I'm really looking forward to putting this thing together. Question, though. I've heard folks mention aluminum rods a couple times, what is the purpose of this and can you give any tips on when/how to install one when I get to that point?

I'm pretty convinced it was an AR125 clutch lever based on how the lever is mounted... It has the correct size and design.. also, the screws that secure its bracket to the end of the smart gun should go in vertically from the upside, not horizontally as for example the GPZ clutch lever brackets offer...

My SG has a 20mm aluminium tube running from the handle to the flash suppressor(pretty much the entire length),it makes it alot stronger and adds a bit of weight. Its a mod id highly recommend.

What kind of store can I find a tube like that at? Would Home Depot have that sort of thing?

There's an AL rod running from the box that surrounds the MG42 trigger assembly, and runs to the clutch/brake lever on the rear of the smartgun. The tub was hollow and had cables running from the MG42 trigger to the brake lever.

Does anyone have any pics of the IR target box that is in between the two AR struts? Or know what it was made from?
Thanks, Painkiller

One more thing, Does the ammo drum have the ribs that run front to back? The front end is close to having pics posted, can you just cut and past on this web sight?
Thanks, Painkiller
