The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Interesting. I've not heard "mint" used by a local this far South of the Tyne. :P

Thanks to Mr.Rush, I got back on this.....

Image

The TV grille from the sulaco airlock release thingy is a perfect
match! 7 ribs, and everything lines up. Need to trim the little
ends, and cap the end, but you get the idea.

Also started putting on some bits:

Looking for these bits:

I'm thinking the pink part is from a Regult kit. Not sure about the
blue one. Maybe a missile?

Any thoughts on the missing barrel-shaped part?

Tell me about it - not looking to shopping in County Square later on this morning...
BTW - not sure if that is a Regult part

The pink part looks like a match to me.

I just wonder, how the hell do you guys do it!!???
Matching sections of bigger parts on all these obscure Asain robot model kits...

Matt,

that's a great find! :D
There's one problem tough: the 1/100 scale kit doesn't look like the drawing. The part in question is too square(ish).

However, the 1/72 scale part looks like a match:

Sadly, the 1/72 kit is (as always  ) much more expensive...

Cheers,
Stefan

I'll get a rough size, so we can confirm the scale.

Only looking at a half round though.

There are a bunch of versions of that kit.

I don't want to spend too much dough on this, because I plan
on leaving my helmet as a ferro only.

It's flaming annoying - all the 1/72nd kits were readily available in every Gamleys and other toy shops in the early - mid 80's.
Bought every one of them and built them.
Never thought to stock pile them though.

Seriously guys...where do you find these?
I wouldn't know where to start trying to identify a part like that. I only hit upon those half dozen parts that turned up in my camera because someone else suggested that the square viewfinder looked like it came from a polaroid and I happened to have one lying around.

Got lucky it guess.

I'm hoping some more pieces are in the kit.

I'll have one next week, Wheeled a deal for one.

(1/72 that is)

Sounds good!
I'll keep my fingers crossed that it's the right one.
And if you don't need the second part....

Stefan

clear dome seems to be correct size. Others may be a tad big.

I also made the pipe tube thing on the top also.

Matt,

that tube thing you did - could it be a part of a large scale model ships? Something like a towing bitt from an RC-model kit.

Cheers,
Stefan
