The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

If it's not too much trouble, Matt...

While your at it, would you make me a set of adamantium-unobtainum alloy shrouds?

That would put a smile on my pulse rifle's muzzle. 8)

Hello from a newbie.

First post.

I have an HCG pulse rifle on order (deposit taken) wit Propstore Of London.

I spoke to them this morning and they said their shipment had been fully checked after it arrived. They were aware of the issue and no 'barrel droop' was found on any of theirs.

Don't hold me to that though!

Funnily enough, when I put the tracking number Prop Store gave me into the PF web site, it says the parcel doesn't exist.

I'm guessing that they haven't received it yet, but I can't be sure about that.

A mate of mine got this reply about his pulse rifle.

Hello,

We are sorry you are not completely satisfied with your Pulse Rifle
replica. This replica is now completely sold out and because of
manufacturing logistics it is not possible to have any more produced.
If this was a simple fiberglass/resin piece then we could simply order
some more from the factory, but to produce the metal parts there are
very high minimum order quantities involved making that impossible.

We have also been looking into whether it is possible to make
alterations to your existing Pulse Rifle to address your concerns, but
due to the nature of its construction that is not possible without
damaging the piece.

After a lot of thought this is the solution we have for you. We will
put you at the top of our Wait List and as soon as a unit becomes
available it will be inspected and then exchanged for the one you
currently have. This process can take up to 2 months, but in the
interim you can keep the one that you currently have.

If a piece does not become available after this time then regrettably
the only remedy we can offer you is a refund. Also if at any time
while waiting, or indeed now, you would prefer to return it for a
refund then let us know and we can arrange that for you. Please let us
know what you would prefer to do. If you would like to take the Wait
List option, please forward us a photo that shows the problem area.

Regards,
Alexandra Fisher

Apparently the droopy barrel can be fixed by leaving the PR in the sun upside down which heats the glue and gravity sets it back into position. There's some successful pics on The RPF.

Here you go fellas. Started on post 1168 about half way down the page.

http://www.therpf.com/f9/licensed-pulse ... dex47.html

My only concern is that over time on the wall rack, gravity will do its thing again. Im going to make a third support for the rack that sits under neath the end of the Spas cage. But so far so good.

And sorry to those of you who live in the dark tundra :D Im sure youll figger out something. At least the Propstore is doing its own QC!

I got the same e-mail this evening.
It's understandable that they can't take them back and fix them simply because of the way they are built....but I don't see myself getting another OD Green version unless its one someone else returned.
I'm getting a refund

No need, we apparently just have to leave the PR in the hot sunshine for a few hours and the industrial hot glue melts enough to fix the droop.

They're sold out?

Was HCG talking about the limited OD rifles or all of them? :(
