The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

..at ease men,

nice to finally be around people i can totally relate to. i have recently spent many an hour reading old posts on this site and from what i can see you guys seem like a fun bunch.

i am a model maker and have had the good fortune to have worked on a few films over the years.

i have owned a couple of different PR's but was always left wanting 'so to speak' by the ones available off the shelf. So i finally decided to make my own (a dream of mine since i was a kid) and i'm now almost finished.

ive been making it for about 2 years 'on and off'.. its a fully working metal airsoft pulsie with TM thompson, Tanaka GL, real spas and aluminium shells.

..just wish id known about this site when i was building the rifle. ;-)

Welcome Mr. Raoul Duke :D
This is definitely the site to go for all your colonial needs! Hope you post some pics of your PR for all of us to take a gander at, sounds killer!

Personally, I only have great things to say about this ragtag bunch of marines! There is ALWAYS someone here that will help you with any questions you might have, and a plethora of amazing costumes.

See you in the forums marine! And remember... Stay frosty and alert!

The name is Drew sadler, I currently live in the states...but was born in england...also lived in germany for six years...I build life size diaramas and movie props for a convention named ''IMAGICON'' [birmmingham alabama] for the past two years I have been creating a life size space ship interrior for this convention . [ alien theme ] its more of a huge med-lab than anything else. I have spent the last four years building several alien props...and have just started making colonial marine armor...I have been asked over the years when will I produce an aliens fan-film...that time, I think has arrived. I don,t know any local colonial marines. and in a way I was hoping I could get some good leads on this web page [forums] If anyone has myspace or face book, I have tons of photos of the props and diaramas on there..[more so on myspace] anyway its [myspace] dsadler4205 [face book] drew sadler. As for liking the alien movies, I love em. Thats why I chose to create the alien props for this particular convention. Think that the ''ALIEN'' is the most creative concept I have ever seen. once I figure out how to post photos on here I will post a few of my works. Thanks for the time, and opportunity to join what seems to be a awesome group of fans and costumers.

Hi Guys, new here, not new to costuming. I've been doing pepakura now for about 5-6 years and so far I've done one panel on the subject which was at All-Con 2010 where I met one of the members here but I don't remember his name. I'm also going to be helping out at D*C on a costuming panel there as well. The only things I have created Aliens wise to date have been the armor and the pulse rifle which I see some of the armor files made it onto here thanks to Nobody and Hirgon for working on those. Yes I am also on the 405th as Nintendude and if any of you are on the Dented Helmet I am known as Vagabond there and on Cosplay I am known as CDF_Vagabond. I think I'll be on here for a while and if there's anything Aliens that I can turn into pepakura just let me know and I'll do what I can. I already have plans in the process of making pep files for the Power Loader that Ridley went up against the Queen with but it will be human scale.

Hi Peeps,
My real name is Chris, I 'm Sakara's other half(another newbie you've recently aquired).
I'm a member of the UK Garrison and UK Frakers (BSG Costuming) so i'm not really a stranger to costuming, my interest in Star Wars has recently dwindled to a small ember, thank's in large part to the awesome Battlestar Galactica series opening my eye's as to how shockingly bad Lucas's writing is!
Why am I here...well someones got to keep sakara in line!
Well having spent 5 years with the UKG i've decided it's time to break out and see what some of the other clubs are like....sometimes the rank and file of the UKG irks me....it's supposed to be fun afterall.

Top ten things to know about me:

1) I will admit to not having watched any of the Aliens films properly (please dont hurt me!) this is something Sakara is educating me on slowly, although I do love the art work of H.R Giger.

2) I love Sci fi, not that keen on Doctor Who though.

3) I'm an Aircraft Engineer (Knuckle dragger)

4) If it does'nt work I hit it with a hammer, if it still does'nt work I get a bigger hammer!!

5) I like to drink Earl Grey tea with milk and 2 sugars, none of that namby pamby coffee stuff....thats a heathens drink!

6) I'm a keen photographer, recently taken the hobby back up after a long break.

7) Enjoy's playing computer games (Xbox and PC) although never actually completes any of them....I get bored easy!

8) I am a Vegetarian, I'm not one of those meat is murder people though,I have nothing against people eating meat....I just don't like the texture or chewiness of it.

9) I prefer a good shower over a Bath.

10) I broke my ankle at work when I was 20, I broke it whilst wrestling with my fellow apprentices at the time.....I blamed it on an awkward trip on a packing pallet though!

I'm Tom, 20 from sunny England.

There's just something about those Colonial Marines, they RULE! My favourite things, other than the armour and their general attitudes happens to be the firing sound of the M41A. Plus, the ambient blip of the motion trackers.

Still not sure which is my favourite film, Alien or Aliens. It's a tough one to call.

Anyway, I hope to one day build up my own costume and generally meet some new people.

NICE TO MEET YOU ALL!

Hey all. My name is Peter, and I've had the fortune for my last name to actually be "Hudson". My last name is part of the reason why I first saw "Aliens". One of my buddies said to me "Dude, this guy in the movie has the same last name as you!", yea my friends are pretty simple minded. I'm a massive fan of Aliens as shown by my complaints toward the Alien Vs Predator game, which was the sounds were wrong on the Smartgun, as well as the reloading. I'm working on a Colonial Marine airsoft load-out including a motion tracker and M41A/2 Pulse Rifle.

Hello everyone! I'm Bazookafied (Zook for short) and I'm thrilled to be here. My first exposure I can remember to Aliens was when I caught a few scenes of it on TV. My dad was watching it and I was 6 or 7. I caught it near the beginning and saw the Marines awaken from Cryosleep up until their initial sweep of the facility on LV 426. I was thrilled enough with the Marines that I ran to the shed to get my toy gun, tape a cardboard tube to the bottom of the barrel and cut out a shroud from construction paper and started playing in my backyard. To my dismay, I met up with friends who had seen the whole thing and told me "Why are you a Marine? They all got killed in that movie!" But the seeds of obsession had already been sewn.

Later on I got into Laser Tag and after seeing a custom built Pulse Rifle from another guy, I knew what I had to do. After finding a Thompson M1A1 Airsoft rifle and getting a steal of a deal on a Pulse Rifle Conversion Kit by G&P, I built my own M41A able to be used with Airsoft and Laser Tag. Locally, I run a Laser Tag group that see's weekly attendance between 25 and 35 players. My Pulse Rifle is my primary weapon and I couldn't be more proud to use it along with my USCM patches on my MOLLE Rig. My research involving building and upgrading the Pulse Rifle has led me to ColonialMarines.net, Aliens Legacy, and personal websites to others working on similar projects where I find inspiration to improve what I'm already doing.

I'm happy to be a part of this community and hope that I can learn more from here as well as share what I'm doing here in the Heartland.
