The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Welcome Fightstar! I'm glad you made your way over here!

What Harry means is that while the 300 folks are talking seriously about Colonial Marines. Here at the Legacy is where serious and fun-lovin' Colonial Marines are. It is THE site for anything and everything Colonial Marine!  :delta: :delta:

So now, what's the low-down on some of the 300 wanting to be Colonial Marines? We have a couple members over there - Schwartz and Tentacle Chris.

Cool Cool!! Without a doubt this is the place to be for USCM. Good to be here and glad for all the warm welcomes.

Yeah TC and Schwartz are my good buddies. Love all those guys over there. I'm not sure the general direction of the small core of people who want to do this are going, but I'm making the leap over here to see what's what. Lots to learn with plenty of time to get to it.

I'll start reading up on some of the stickies and other threads around here over the week. Once I get a handle on things then I'll start making some trouble  Trouble as in getting the pieces to get some armor we all can be proud of.

Once again thanks for the welcome.

Willkommen fightstar! You have found a true band of brothers! I joined up April 08' and found this group to be excellent and a pleasure to deal with. If you need help with anything there is always someone to help out, especially Harry Harris, who is the grand poobah, the 4 star general of this forum and he has the knowledge that would make your helmet spin!
I think you'll have fun here!

Cheers!

Hi evryone, thought I'd introduce myself. I'm Paul, from Dudley. Most people think of me as just a Star Wars fan but are always surprised that my favourite film is Aliens.
Also a member of the UKG and was lucky enough to see the UKCM at the NSC last weekend and visit the Alien Encounter - I'd like to thank everyone that stayed over so that some of us could get a free showing at the end of the day, it was awesome. While the encounter was cool, I was so impressed with the kit everyone had and couldn't stop looking at the PR's while I was in the queue, I've been thinking about it all week. Would love to have a kit of my own and do some drops next year.

Hopefully meet some of you around soon.

Paul

Heyo everyone, another Merry-Land'er here. I ran into your booth at Dragoncon and, after watching a few friends put together their armor/pulse rifles for that, I'm intregued to the point where I'm concidering working on a suit of my own. I'm going to go for the "OMG I'm insane" option and try for a Smartgun I think, I noticed that a lot of the parts, steadycam rig aside, were motorcycle parts. Interesting, but I suppose it did help get a unique look to the weapon

Hey there Paul. Welcome to the Aliens Legacy forums! A good bunch of lads these are. Most of them, at least. I am not so sure about that Troon fella.

Where in Maryland are you? Did you know Murlund has a very large Colonial Marine presence?

Glen Burnie at the moment, I knew my friends Heidi and Craig were in the group, and a few of their friends too, since they had someone supplying armor pieces, guns etc, but I didn't know we were big around here. Good for me though, I'll probably need all the help I can get assembling my gear x3

I'm friends with Heidi and Craig, too. They're here as Nightwitch and Prophet, and they're with us in B/3-7. Click the link in my signature line to visit our forums and feel free to register to get in touch with us. :)

Thanks for the welcome guys!

I'll post some pics of my WIP stuff once budget/time allow, and once I actually have some gear I'll try to load out with some of you "Old Line" marines Chryse since I'm so far north in VA MD is only about 20 minutes away (the border at least!).

Glad to see the bug I caught started among a couple of friends at 300dc too (musta infected/drug fightstar over here  ) :delta:

Been slowly reading all stickies, faqs, and posts in the ready line to help cure my noobism, I'm at pg 68 thus far

Hey everyone,

New to the forum. Found it through a Canadian member (thx Scott). Looking at acquiring some USCM kit...I'd like to get my buddies to get some of the spulserifle kits to work on as winter projects, instead of gluing our faces to the Xbox all the time. Not sure if we'll just use the gear for halloween or not, since I'm busy with other historical period reenactment, but either way I'm excited about getting my first M41A.

I try not to post too much on the Intro thread just because its the same thing over and over...not that's there's anything wrong with it.....but most of you know the issue I had back in 04 with my post-whoring ;) *cough*KEV*cough*

But I'm simply amazed how many people are wanting to do or thinking of doing USCM gear over 20 years after the movie came out.
Just goes to show how big guns, bug hunts and how much of an awesome group we are draws people in after so long!!

Don't forget to click the link in my sig' and get yourself listed on the Charter once you're ready to go.....you're not a real Colonial Marine until you do (joke!)

So as its been said and will be said again....welcome one and welcome all.
You will not (WILL NOT) find a more friendly, detailed and fun bunch of folks anywhere on the web!!
Trust me I looked...save your time

Hey guys! I'm Claymore, real name John and I'm from Scotland. Call me Claymore or Clay, John is way too common a name.

I found out about The Aliens Legacy from Reverend Scapegoat at the start of the year and have since done 3 drops with the Hadrians Wall detachment of the UKCM as a dropship pilot. The most recent of which was at the Movie Mania weekend in Leicester where I took part in the Alien Encounter. I did one day as a tech but for the second day I wore a bug suit and absolutely loved it! Need to get me one now and join the hive!

Can someone point out who I have to pester for a service number please?
