The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Yep, welcome back mate!

Good to see some of the old timers coming back instead of just leaving. :)

I know you work in the industry, what do you actually do again?

Russ

Hi there boys and girls, I'm Danny; a friend of mine on here's been badgering me to sign up for a couple months now, but I've only just now gotten around to it. I first saw the Aliens films when I was a kid on TV, but only bits and pieces of them. I actually just recently re-discovered them, and the same friend who's been badgering me to join this board has been badgering me at least as long to get ahold of a set of BDUs and armor. Anyway, I'm relatively new to the whole costuming hobby, and haven't gotten involved in anything involving armor yet, so hopefully I won't screw up anything too bad. :P

Hi Danny,

Don't worry about screwing up - this is a very easy going bunch. Have a good look at the Archives section - there is information in there about everything you might want to know about Marine armour and other costumes from the film.

Hope to see you at an event/con some day.

Well met, Pug. I noticed a lot of the active people on this board are Brits. Never really realized this fanbase was that wide. That's pretty cool. Thanks for the reassurance as well. :D

Hi, Uh... is this thing on?

I found this place through a link from the Alienexperience.com forums when I was looking for an Aliens-themed Zippo lighter for my husband for Christmas, and someone had a thread in there about one that they purchased from the lovely Taj.

I'll admit that's the main reason I'm here, but being a fan I'm going to have a poke around and see what else is going on, because there's some awesome stuff in the few threads I've looked at before registering.

Hi, my name is Dave. I'm a computer electronics student who also does circuit design as a hobby. One of my buddies pointed me toward this forum after I started working on an electronic display for his pulse rifle kit. Once I get it finished I'd like to show it off here and possibly start taking commissions or making more pulse rifle displays if all goes well.

Other than that I'm pretty much into video games, conventions, cosplay, etc. Can't wait to start poking around and checking out some of the other replicas people on here have made.

Thanks Harry

I'm already pretty impressed with the finished projects I'm seeing posted here, pretty awesome stuff. I'd love to be able to make armor and cast weapons and parts someday down the road.

It's an American military acronym. Army Posts have a PX (Post Exchange) and Air Force Bases have a BX (Base Exchange). They are all run by AAFES, the Army/Air Force Exchange Service.

Technically speaking, "Base PX" is incorrect terminology either way.

Hello everyone,
My name is Michael (Daft) and I just recently joined your awesome group after speaking to some of your members at Dragon Con 09. I am currently a student who is going to be very swamped with work, but I will try to make a complete Drop-ship pilots outfit to join you guys at events as soon as possible and affordable. Thank you for allowing me to join!
