The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Thought I would post my progress, I am about ready to paint. I tried like heck to make it as close as I could but in the end some of the left side did not line up like I had planned. I designed the 3 bases and printed them.

No brown bess to be had...... Looks like i will have to go olive drab.

Is the grill piece a real world part from a model kit?

Great job on the sight unit! I love things build from the original parts. :)

As for the grill:
The original was problably from a Ferguson 37800C or 37801C 16" Portable Color TV.
The TV's control panel was used for the Sulaco Airlock release and cover spacing is a perfect match for the helmet sight.

Cheers
Stefan

I actually designed and printed it. I studied and studied every pic I have (which is almost all of them form the threads on here:) and did comparison measurements and made it. Since then I got a resin printer so if I could I would redo it, no lines....

I searched and searched for that tv but something like that.... no such luck in finding one.

Optics package done! Some painting to tidy up, and also see if I can get a replacement part for the raptor sight as I cant find it anywhere in my piles of stuff.
