The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

A while ago I saw at least one thread on here from someone who built a functional gun camera/headset for an M56.

I've tried searching and have not been able to find it. Can anyone point me to the thread, or have any information about this kind of build?

Any help would be appreciated.

Saw that one, but there was an older thread about another build as well

It might have been me.

I have the stuff mounted but I have to either figure out a sufficient counter weight or go to a full face mask setup to offer more rigid support.

I am stuck at this point on getting the gps part programmed in. I am getting prop builder burn out. GNSS and eastern Tennessee does not agree well as the satellite constellation is a on the near verge of failure, and b I am waiting for a tri-band unit to come to market I can use which uses the GNSS, GLONASS, BeiDou, maybe Galileo. Triband GPS is the new hotness as GPS survey and navigation is becoming more desireable as the triband accuracy allows for centimeter level elevation calculation, perfect for say, grading job sites.

To put it in perspective a great excavator can excavate an area 3 inches within grade by eyeballing things. With equipment you could automate the process and have it within a centimeter of grade. Why is grade important? drainage, entrance and exit point sloping, gentler sloping entrances, minimized concrete pours for footers and slabs on top of minimally used gravel underlayment.

A centimeter off grade on a facility expansion means that you could literally reslope pours to something not even noticed. I worked at a facility that had a cat walk that had a 10 foot drop one end to the other. That slope was fun moving a cart load full of switches that weighed a half ton that I had to slow a decent on... Centimeter grading would make that slope non existent as you could compensate with a little extra gravel and level stuff out.

Thanks everyone, that is very helpful.

My project involves rigging an eyepiece to an SG headset that attaches to a camera on the gun, so I could use it for shooting around corners.

Idea here is to build a functional Airsoft smart gun.

Lots of other obstacles to overcome, but if I'm gonna make the gun, having a functional headset is worth the trouble to me.

I have it working on mine. The weight is the big big issue on mine as it is throwing it all out of balance.
