The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

What's the best option for transporting and storing a latex Xeno suit? (In my case, a Monsterroom Props Xeno)

Ideally for transport I'd like it to fit in one container, but it needs to be big enough to fit the head and the dorsal tubes as well as the suit and tail. We saw some collapsing crates on wheels in Walmart but there weren't any that I saw that I figured were big enough to fit the head.

For storage, I worry about the latex sticking to itself if it's folded so currently it's hanging in my closet but eventually when it's finished and touched up it will go on a mannequin.

With creative packing, it will fit in a single large hard suitcase. Abe has one that is about 32x22x12 inches. Abe weighs about 45 lbs with the case...

Once painted, it shouldn't stick to itself. I usually wrap each part in black trash bag to stop rubbing of the paint when the case is moved.

But, you can only store it long term in a case/box when it's very clean and very dry - otherwise it will rot.

:)

Abe is built with very few hard parts (shush you!) mainly so that a drunk Alien falling on his arse won't hurt me. This also means that the backtubes and tail can be squished down into a suitcase for travel. The head will (just barely) fit diagonally across the big suitcase.

Oh, and if you do display it on a mannequin, make very sure it isn't in direct sunlight/daylight: it breaks down latex even when it's painted/coated.

Ive got a 160ltr crate but i can't fit the tail in it without bending it. The head, hands, gloves, vest and suit fit in. but its a tight fit. I wouldn't store it like that at home for long periods. My suit hangs up in closest on wet suit hanger and tail under bed. Rest of the stuff stays in the crate packed away
