The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

So, i have several costumes and armour from several fandoms, but seeing as zombies and the like are pretty popular these days i thought id better sort myself out, after some thought about a star wars death trooper which i decided was too tike consuming and too serious for a casual costume...i decided on a CM casualty with a chest burster emerging from the chest armour.
So i made a simply set of CM armour from foam, i'm not going to attach all the more acurate bells and whistles to this piece as its just for fun.

I then went about making the chestburster i thought about clay...but the wieght would be a problem and its fragile, i then opted for papier mache pulp (shredded news paper soaked over night then mulched and drained, this stuff sets rock hard and strong once mixed with pva glue, also very light and you would be surprised on the detail that can be achieved, of
Course i had to use milliput on some of the details but main shape is PM, then it was a case of mixing a base coat of paint and layering with latex and adding blood.

This is the chest burster and the start of the armour i will show the final piece when done.

What do you think.

Still weathering the armour, as its only a basic representation of the armour i need to make it look as good as possible with paint lol, im going on holiday for the week tomorrow so it will be next weekend, i now actually have a concern that the chestburster may be a bit on the small side when placed in the armour
I may need to do another, if i do need to do another larger one, i may build this current one into a t shirt or create a belt for it or something.

Well done! You need to mask that off and use a glossy clear coat (or "paint" a gloss
coat over the top) to keep the "fresh blood" look going... without having to resort
to using KY or other sticky goo that can get over everything.

Wow, seems like its coming along very nicely! Reminds me of those 3D vintage chestburster t-shirts they used to make, but obviously your project is on another level. Can't wait to see it finished with extra gore.
