Only 4 hours of gameplay, xenos that run mindlessly at the player like zombies, "classic" skins (i.e. the movie look that you all really want) are locked behind the DELUXE edition for nearly twice the price and the classic smartgunners appear to still have ****ing leg armour - which shows their level of research and care about the IP. They can keep it, I'm not that desperate to be parted from my money for a cash grab L4D reskin

I mentioned somewhere that the marines armor and weapons were wrong. Someone was like "Duuuuh its in the future". As if that explained away my point. Im thinking the makers could have made it take place whenever the hell they wanted to or used whatever weapons they felt like and "its in a different time period" is not an excuse for being lazy about the source material and taking too much creative liberty. If they arent the colonial marines from the movie ALIENS, then I couldn't give a crap about them or their lazy new derivative weapon and armor designs. I'm betting the "classic designs" are not even accurate. The new weapons don't even look like a natural evolution from the weapons in the film. They're just using brand recognition to sell their game without even understanding the brand. If this game cannot hold up when put under the microscope by its biggest and most informed fans, then it's not a quality Aliens game. I could end up getting a copy, but so far, as a fan of the movie Aliens, I am not their target audience and they've not marketed to me at all. |
