I just got an update/patch for A:CM, anyone know what this one is meant to do/improve/etc? I cannae be bothered playing ALL the way through the campaign just yet (as I did it over the last few days...) But it was a fairly big update, took well over 5 minutes to install |

I would imagine it will all be pretty subtle. I'd guess they should announce release notes pretty soon when it's likely to have been pushed to everyone - I think everyone is keen to see patches. For comparison, the day-one patch was 3Mb and took my Xbox about 20 seconds to install. |

Well, I have. 250gb and a decent wifi connection, so it musta been big. I'm assuming it was ACM as I was playing it on SP, then as soon as I went to play MP it told me there was an update and did the whole rigmarol |

Does anyone know - is the rumour that the Microsoft certification of each Xbox patch costs $40,000 true or was it ever true? I know that submitting patches on Steam is essentially free. |

The $40,000 figure came from a discussion from Double Fine about patching Brutal Legend, that being the cost to patch the game on consoles, so it's the combined cost of submission to Sony and Microsoft. For Microsoft, the first patch for a title is without cost. Patches for 360 games are also limited to 4mb. Anything more than that, and it has to be delivered via DLC (compatibility packs for multiplayer, usually). |

Thanks for the info. So there is at least two sources for that number - I got it from this http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2012/07/m ... patch-fee/ |

Back in the mists of time, a high patch cost was a method of "encouraging" developers to make sure their game worked well from the off. But in this day and age of DLC and games evolving beyond the initial release (TF2 for example, it is now a night and day difference to what it is now on PC, and the version that remains unchanged on the consoles), it is just another relic of the old guard and the closed systems. |

I can't find any mention of a new patch on the Gearbox forums, either as an official post (they normally announce a patch in the forums as it's sent for certification) or from any console/PC players. |

Ah well I just got home, turned on the 360 and the console downloaded a patch, so it's an MS one. ![]() Just checked Twitter and Major Nelson says: Quote: Xbox LIVE System update out today. No big changes just an update to default settings that will only be visible to certain users in the EU
