The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Ok we need to sort out who's coming and what vehicles we will be travelling in.

I will be driving my van as usual and can fit a max of 6 people including me, although the 6th person would need to have short legs to fit in the front middle seat

This is the list of possibles from the main roll-call thread, please either confirm or remove yourselves from it.

Claymore - Confirmed - Clay's van
Scapey - Confirmed - Clay's van
Boltrig - Confirmed - Clay's van
Rex - Confirmed - Clay's van
Rouge - Confirmed - Clay's van

Padsbrat - Confirmed - Own Car
gus - Confirmed - Own Car

Bugz - Cancelled
Wildone - Cancelled

Confirmed.
Mulling over taking my car with a passenger.
I'm not bothered about driving it in one go.

Importantly, when do we intend on heading down?
How about the Friday evening thus escape the traffic. Book into hotel, zonk out ready for early morning brekkie and off to the space centre?

Last year we left East Kilbride at about 11am on the Friday so that we could get in and setup the prop display. It also allowed us to join in with the UKG dinner that night.

Whats the cruising speed of the van?

I'd normally cruise about 85 but i'm gonna stick to about 70 this time, I'll get an extra 100 miles to the tank that way.

Best just clarify for everyone, we will be following the same plan as last year.

Travel down Friday, leaving Glasgow area around 11am.
Arrive Leicester around 6-7pm depending on traffic/rest breaks etc.
NSC Sat/Sun
Monday morning a possible trip to the local markets and shops then travel back up.

I'll blast past Carlisle, see no reason to stop with the van. Can meet up at a rest stop further down the road?
Isn't there one at the M1 end of that A66 road we take to transfer from the M6 to M1?

I'll be taking the M6 down like we did last year. Southwaites is about 10-15 mins past Carlisle on the M6.

well my flats on the main street so it would have to be either the bus station or the civic centre in central carlisle, thats only because you cant access my flat via car unless you park in the multi-story. i live above the lanes shopping centre lol my postcode is CA3 8PL, number 19 ;)

Sandy, how many folk do you have room for in your car?
Mandy, Ryan and Jen from Gr8film want to come down if they can. Not sure if Ryan would be up for driving, or what he drives, but I'll try to find out ASAP. If he drives something bigger'n you, might make sense for you to drive to Glasgow, and come the rest of the way with them?
Been on at him to get in here and post, but clearly I need a bigger stick for poking! ;)
