The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hmm. On one hand, Mac McDonald is slated to be there.

On the other hand, it's the same weekend as Conflagration. And they have a Adobe Flash website - this makes me want to stab myself in the head.

Any interest?

I would like to have gone to this as I would love to meet Bill Pearson (VFX on loads of lovely stuff).

But it looks too expensive and way too confusing, so I think I'm passing! :D

It does seem quite pricey even for a one day ticket. The cost of staying there looks extortionate unless you don't mind sharing the floor with 6 0r 7 other people. I think I'll be giving it a miss.

Cheers

I don't think I'll be making it to this one.

Apparently, they have hired their Aliens from a private company. :(

Their Predator is interesting too! ;)

That`s NOT fair :(

Maybe a Xeno Union is needed for all the Hive brothers & sisters, to stop people turning hive syblings against each other.

I doubt they self-identify as hive-anythings.

But it does solve a mystery for me. I spotted this guy on the MCM Expo facebook (he was alegidly at the last London MCM Expo, but I didn't see it). I didn't pass comment because I thought it was a much better "home-made" costume than I could manage, and I hoped to entice him into the UKCM. However, since he was a hired performer, I will echo my hive-bro and say: "Ooooh nasty!" (...I wish I had a little seat I could sit on all day. It would look crap, but it would be comfortable ;) ).

Surely they arn`t the one`s who got the invite? Your`s, Si`s et al all are so much better in detail & everything. Moreso you guys have the passion & that in my books counts for much more.

Still let them make their silly choices, we know we have the Best within the AL ranks :D

Does SFX have much to do with Sci-fi these days? I had high hopes for it when it started out but it soon degenerated into the standard kiddie-fodder with childish photo-comments and transcripts of the staff's conversations while watching films. Sigh.

Look on the bright side- if you guys went (in costume of course) you'd totally upstage the 'hired help', have mass opportunities for cool photobombs, and maybe get offered the gig next year?
OK the last one is highly unlikley, but the first two would be awesome fun.
That said the ticket prices are WAY high and the website is indeed horrendous.
