The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Right,

I've decided that if I'm going to Dcon09 I'm gonna go pimped up and strut my stuff, British style.
Best way to do that, I feel, is in Dress uniform. Seeing as Kevin's Dress blues were such a hit.

So, I'm researching and will eventualy start assembling a No. 2 Dress Uniform for the UKCM.
This thread will serve to charter the progress and gather critique.

Here's my very first idea for a No2 Dress of the Hadrians wall.

That looks cool... I was toying with the idea of doing a UACM Dress uniform with a kilt and a Tam 'o Shanter.

I'd recommend putting a Screaming Lion patch on the lower left sleeve.

That was very much on the agenda. Can't find a side on picture of the No2 tunic to illustrate it though.

The unit patch (is it a Sulaco or custom UKCM patch?) on the breast pocket is good- creates a continuity among the uniforms. Same goes for the Deltas and (if you do it) the Lion patch on the left cuff.

I like the direction so far! Keep us posted!

Kevin

I should have my kilt by then... Same as I wore at my wedding, "Grey Spirit" tartan.

Planning to wear it to the Collectormania party in December, but undecided as to what to wear with it... so I'll keep an eye on what you guys come up with since my brain's currently not functioning well enough to come up with ideas for now.

I would say drop the flags - unnecessary on a quintessentially British uniform.

But Pete, it ties in with Kev's dress uniform, and remember there may well be people there that are not familar with British uniforms, strange as it sounds... :D

There are no flags on my Dress Blues. :?

Isn't this what this is supposed to be?

I mean- if you want to have the British flag on yours that's cool.

Just pointing out that there is no flag on my Dress Blues. My Service C shirt does have one.

The idea of the flag was to avoid confusion with the American Army uniform. Though, perhaps the Glengarry is enough of a giveaway?
